He saw the "ghost" of Mickey, quotes because it could have been a hallucination which is not exactly the same thing as a ghost, and the ACTOR died last week so he was very much available. I am genuinely curious how Tommy Gunn would have done against Apollo. I say PRIME Apollo demolishes Tommy but in some alternate universe where instead of facing Ivan Drago he had faced Prime Tommy Gunn I wonder if Apollo would have won or put up a very good fight and maybe lost due to being twice his age? Apollo getting demolished by Ivan Drago does NOT mean that he could not have taken on Tommy since Tommy also would have stood no chance against Ivan.
@Timberwolf19928 ай бұрын
@@ZurroundApollo, even if past his prime, would "retire Tommy worse than social security can". Afterall, in skillset, Apollo and Rocky are equals and it was a retired Apollo who made Rocky a much better fighting machine adding to the toughness and durability which Mickey had instilled in him. Analysts have often opined Tommy is by far the weakest villain of the series and there's also possibility that his win over Union Cane to claim the WHC belt was a setup, coz even Rocky acknowledged Cane was experienced, abled and studied his opponents thoroughly so him losing in barely a couple of rounds raises questions.
@Zurround8 ай бұрын
@@Timberwolf1992 Apollo got beaten to DEATH in just 2 round against Ivan. If that version of Apollo would have beat Tommy does that mean Tommy loses to Ivan even faster? Maybe getting killed or turned into a brain dead "vegetable" in round one?
@AnkitSingh-xl6pt8 ай бұрын
@@Zurroundhighly plausible. Tommy's training under Rocky was top class, but the opponents he was fighting weren't in the leagues of Clubber Lang or Apollo or Drago in any regards. Physically, there wasn't much difference per say. Drago was 6'4.5", Tommy 6'2". And whilst Tommy was agile and quick thanks to Rocky, Drago was a mammoth steroid laden glacier. If he connected even once, Tommy would lose concentration for sure. Not 2, but Drago would win by KO against Tommy by the 5th round.
@Zurround8 ай бұрын
@@AnkitSingh-xl6pt I wonder how Damien from Creed 3 or Conlon or Mason Dixon would have done against Tommy? Its obvious that Viktor Drago and Adonis Creed beat him. Tommy might have been the least powerful main villain in the franchise? Some people say boxing is by far the most powerful martial art and that a good boxer can beat up masters of any other martial art even if its a street fight and not a boxing match but I am wondering how true that is. I think someone like Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris might have the advantage on the street.
