i don't mind the 4 lane road turning into a tunnel but i think the couplet plus tram should run as a bridge. just imagine the views driving on the bridges! 😍
@stoli4124 ай бұрын
Great build! One suggestion: I don't think it would be realistic to have the cycle lanes on the couplet continue in a road tunnel under the delta. It might be better for them to connect into a cycle path that crosses the delta, then it could eventually reconnect to the couplet on the other side. And it would be a great view for the cyclists! Just a thought...

Absolute gamechanger with terraforming that delta. It brings both character and potential challenges to the build. I would love to see the elevated metro run through the delta with a stop in the middle that provides access to a nature reserve area.

@ancova11834 ай бұрын
I could see a company using the shield method of tunneling to carve through the water-filled ground of the delta. It would be more viable if all the transport was integrated into a single tunnel, like the subway and car arterial. That's impossible in Cities, but we can pretend it is integrated. As for the financing, it would make sense if the oil company drilled that hole as part of its own oil pipeline project. The potential revenue of the such a pipeline would attract investors and cover the cost. Maybe Rannoch and the oil company made an agreement in return for the oil drilling off the coast to build the tunnels. Said machine used to make the tunnels could also be used to drill subway tunnels through the rest of the city, especially if the land is also below the water line.

Oh, my, I certainly wasn't expecting that delta, it looks quite nice. Now, about the bus highway ramps, I don't think many busses will be using the on ramp. If they come from, let's say, east, your current layout allows busses to come into Rannoch from the east and leave it facing west. Since they want to return to where they came from, they won't use that road and instead they'll head back using the couplet. I'm afraid you'll either need to make a 3-way intersection or just ignore it for the sake of aesthetics. Keep up the good work, man!

The river looks amazing, can't wait to try it console! I suspect I willl have about 8000 back up saves for when I set the brush strength too high and trigger an earthquake Suggestion for the trams and couplet section - traffic lights! I've added them to the couplet where the pedestrian roads cross, as it turns it into a pedestrian crossing since no lights are placed on the ped road itself. Also where the tram tracks cross the regular roads that link the two couplet roads, I've added lights here as it mostly acts as if it gives trams priority due to the way Cities only changes the lights as vehicles approach, so you end up with the cars having green most of the time, but as a tram approaches it gets a green due to being the only vehicle on that "road" (the track) Second suggestion for junctions, turn on all stop signs for all rail/metro above ground. They completely ignore them, which is fine, but the signals look great with flashing lights at intersections and transition between bridge and ground

Didn't like that angled Bus Hub access road at first when you placed it but you sure made it work. Brilliant work with the river and that plaza is just beautiful. Hats off, Egg, hats off :)
@pbarry19883 ай бұрын
I agree with many people on here. You only really need to tunnel if there’s a shipping channel that needs to be cleared and a tall bridge is not feasible. The river isn’t deep enough for any large ships to pass. I’d keep one of the roads a bridge with enough clearance for the fishing boats, but you don’t need two tunnels under the river.
@iman.a.t4 ай бұрын
Is it odd that my favorite part is the bus hub service area? 😅 The detailing is always on point. Just a note about the larger plaza area, no proper designer would design a large concrete space without either changing pathway surface material or add low hedges or any sort of element to differentiate where the fast-paced walking paths are from the more calm and leisurely paced open spaces where people go to linger.

Very cool bus terminal. Definitely stealing those ideas. I'm wondering if we won't see some tunnel entrance detailing spice as a distinctive feature of Rannoch. Part of me imagines that the Heather Oil Fields built an oil or natural gas pipeline running through the delta, which is why they got the machine needed to drill a water-tight tunnel through it. Rannoch piggy-backed on the purchase of the machine and leased it from the company for their own infrastructure (rail, highway, and whatnot).
