I wonder what would be our CPUs like 10 years later from now. We are almost at 6Ghz barrier with newer CPUs without bad temps and stabilisation issues. When I bought my 6700k 6 or 7 years ago, 4 Ghz base clock was awsome thing and overclocking it to 5 Ghz or 5.2 Ghz was overkill. Nowadays CPUs support 5Ghz or 5.6 Ghz speeds as default with turboboost and if you have good cooling solution you can reach 5.8 or 6Ghz easily. Probobably we are going to use 6Ghz as default and we can overlock it to 7Ghz or more. That's amazing.

Well, great video and well explained. Definitely recommended for "newbies". However, I don't think CPUID HW/Monitor is a sufficient program and I don't understand why you wouldn't use HWInfo, for example, which is definitely the better program and provides much (more important) information, especially when it comes to the "actual temperature" of the CPU and packages. Otherwise, the mainboard tool that shows the temperature is sufficient, but is usually a different or incorrect value that can differ by 10 degrees or more depending on the CPU, mainboard and clock speed. Also, Cinebench is a good tool that provides clues, but it is not a suitable and meaningful program in terms of stability for either UV or OC. For most gamers, this is certainly sufficient and will probably only cause BSODs or similar in very few cases. Proper UV and OC cannot be done in a few minutes, let alone with a few short tests, because with the 13th and 14th generation in particular, a lot more is required if you want a stable and perfect system. The XTU is well explained and easy to understand.

I don’t know what to do anymore for my cpu I have a 13700k and my cooler is a Corsair h150i 360mm AIO and under stock settings cinebench makes it hit 100C immediately. Ive undervolted a ton I believe right now my current voltage settings are 1.265 and an offset of -.145 and temps would still hit 95-97C. The only thing that has brought temps down was limiting the short turbo boost power limit and bringing it down to 230W instead of 253W brought temps down to 86-90C even with the maintained undervolt. Whereas I’ve seen people say just undervolting their cpu with an offset of -.150 has brought temps down 15C but it just doesn’t do that for me. I know it’s not because of a bad mount or a dead AIO because my idle temps are perfectly normal 36-40C and so are my temps while gaming I’ve never seen above 70C but something about running a 100% load makes it want to run super hot no matter what I do

@@elliotressler4201 The only thing that I've been able to do was limit the short turbo boost power limit to 230W and that seems to give me the best compromise between performance as in I lose no cinebench score and keeps the temp below 90 during a cinebench run

@@ImKhione I fixed mine. MSI has a CPU setting which determines the Watts allocated and mine was set to an absurdly high number (watercooler setting). Once I set the max Wattage to be 253 (box cooler) it now doesn’t exceed 75C.

@@ImKhione Do you have the red Cpu Game Boost on? It’s the first big button when booting up the BIOS. That might be the issue if it’s on. What kind of cooler do you have? Did you change the Watts via the CPU cooler method? If none of that works, have you tried undervolting CPU Core by 0.050 V?

What was Ambient Temp? My 13900K is hitting TMax@100C at factory clocks on an Next X72 360mm 😭 ( ambient temp is 31C

So the Xtreme Tubing Utility isn't a stable software. Keeps crashing and very inconsistent performance. i tried the OCII on the Asus AI software and got better results. The 13900K is still a beast with power draw and temperatures and IMO and AIO won't keep temps down if you have high ambient temps above 30C.

Cinebench is not a stress test, is a benchmark, if you pass cinebench you still are unstable in a ton of senario…

That’s completely false in every way. It’s one of the harder stress tests out there

@@Hardwaretuned no, is not, is only a benchmark, you have no idea, but you are probably new in the pc world and youtube doesn’t help you, i understand. If you are stable in cinebench, you can crash in any video rendering, any video encoding, any 3d rendering, any games, you are just light work load stable, you have to test with occt small or prime 95 small, then you are probably 100% stable.
@lukastemberger2 жыл бұрын
@@Hardwaretuned It does use up 100% of raw power of your cpu, but it's using an instruction set specific to its 3D renderer. There are many different instructions that software can use that can become unstable even if Cinebench is stable. Another point of view is - people who actually use Cinema 4D for their work would never overclock because stability is more important than a few % of speed when your work is on the line.

To "get the power out of it", you undervolt it, not overclock it
