Thank you so much. I was a classical guitar major and liked welding and all kinds of thkngs but my sister was the visual artist of the fam. She was unbelievably talented and dated a tattoo artist who now actually practices at Cannibal Graphics here in Oklahoma. He was absolutely amazing and my sister being the visual artist she was was really good at giving tattoos as well. Over the years i yearned to give it a try and never understood why she didnt pursue it when she was so good (she practically runs an assisted living home now). Fast forward i am a single mom with 3 kids 5 and under. I have been passionate about massage therapy and wanted to try to put myself theough school. I love it but it's something tainted and unreachable if you don't have a certification (people are nasty sometimes- doesn't matter if you have a mind for healing). Tattooing. Enter tattooing. Practice myself. Research myself. People can doubt me but eventually skill will talk for itself.. I ordered a machine and am watching your videos and teaching myself a skill- something i can love to do and grow with and create for myself and eventually for others. So thank you. I can't go to massage school as a single mom with 3 and little help. I can't pursue a welding career. I can do this. Thank you.

I’m Native American and have always wanted to try tattooing since I was a child, I’m 23 now. I also use to draw but I stopped when my childhood best friend passed away from suicide. We always drew together growing up, but It’s been 3 almost 4 years now since he departed from this world, there’s not a day that goes by where he’s on my mind. And I’ve been wanting to get back into it and chase my dream on tattooing, it’s been on my mind a lot lately. Then I stumbled upon your page, and helped me with my drive on perusing my dream. You are an answer to prayer! After giving up completely on apprenticeships with people who have major ego problems sitting on their high horses I decided I would just have to resolve to learning at home! They are obviously threatened, but honestly they should realize that many who start out are not going to stick with it! Many people start out with good intentions then quit, many people are irresponsible and undependable whether it's personal laziness or drugs/ alcohol, or whatever and won't amount to anything so why the big threat! Only those who truly want to be a tattoo artist will rise up and all that does is give the tattoo industry a better name and respect! We need more professionalism! Thank you soooooo much!!😊🥰

Thank you man! I work 12 hour shifts as a security guard.... I have 12 hours a night where I can spend all night practicing.... But I don't because I do have that fear.... However I need to start, I do have other issues that have prevented me from starting that I'm trying to get over now but there is no reason I can practice at work..... So im going to start. I'm going to make up a little kit with the practise mats and stuff in that I can easily take to work and just get cracking and following along with your videos... I started practicing tattooing because I'm being sentenced to federal prison for firearms charges so I wanted to be able to make my stay as comfortable as possible without having to be a burden on my family. Court took a lot longer than I expected because of covid-19 & I fell in love with everything about tattooing! I always drew very well until I was shot through my arm when I was 18 & suffered nerve damage that affected my drawing hand. Since I work full time I don't have a lot of time but I will after I'm sentenced in May! Luckily it should only be a couple years but I'll stay positive, motivated & never stop practicing drawing thinking back to these videos. Of coarse I won't tattoo while incarcerated because that is against the rules! 👀 Thank you for your time!

Hello Ben, I discovered your channel three days ago and I am so grateful for your dedication, patience and hard work you put into the lessons. I wished to become a tattoo artist since I was a child, but it remained only a dream. Four years ago, my ex brother-in-law gave me an old tattoo kit as a birthday present and I was both excited and terrified. I never dared to use it or even to think about it since last week. I had no confidence, I was afraid of criticism, of being considered selfish , unrealistic and immature by my family (in my experience, females face more expectations from parents). I used to do cosmetic tattooing 15 years ago, I have touched up friends fading body tattoos and absolutely loved doing it. I am not much of a pen and paper artist and don't really like to draw that much. I feel I am at a disadvantage because of my lack of art background. I am a glass artist so I have the art bug in me. I guess I'm afraid I won't be good enough. I love your step by step hands on approach. I will do all of them in order. Thank you

Hawaii, you don't have to be a great artist. Having a passion is good enough. There are loads of app and material you can pull the art from. It does take a lot of creativity though to put the art together. Don't let the lack of being able to free hand a peice stop you. Hope this helps.

I was very poor and diagnosed with depression, so all this inspiration stuff always pissed me off. But now I am much better and also have support from my family, so I'm starting to learn this craft soon. It's my dream, really. So if you guys watch motivating videos and immediately feel worse, seek help. If your own desires can't motivate you or if you don't have any, you probably need some kind of support. And if you can't get it... i feel you, that sucks. But it all can change some day. Internet is great source of new people who may understand you and give you some kind words at least. Also, you have to try. Especially with depression, you remember that you can't do certain things, but maybe you already can! You don't have to succeed, just try little things to check if something has changed since previous time. Just from "i wonder if I can wash my hair today" to "yeah I'm gonna learn this new thing or at least try and see how it goes".

I needed this. Red tape has been hurting my motivation. I’m a licensed architect tired of slaving away behind a computer for someone else, so I’ve been teaching myself to tattoo and apparently I’m pretty fucking good. Fear of starting has held me back for a long time. I’ve been an avid collector of tattoos for almost 20 years. I’ve been an artist since I could hold a pencil. ben, I just want to say I appreciate your words, and I hope for nothing but greatness for you. I love people like you, because you encourage people to do better and chase their dreams. Some artist wouldn't bother even giving the knowledge that you are. I feel like you are talking directly to me when you say we think about other people and how, what if it doesn't work. I recently lost my job at Wells Fargo and it hurt me because I was so good at my job.. and now I know that unless you do something on your own, you're nothing but a number in these big companies. I want to become a tattoo artist and have bought everything I need except for a machine. would you recommend the mast tour pro?
