I'm a 7 year smoker at my age of only 24 and you just made me discover that I'm not just smoking it because I'm inevitably addicted and theres nothing to stop it, if I don't, there's a primitive pain I start to feel and without you I couldn't have discovered this for 40 YEARS! Along with the anxiety treatment you just increased my lifespan by another 60 years Julien and I have an Ungodly amount of appreciation for you. Thank YOU SO MUCH!. Are you ever considering to come to Turkey before it's too late?
@dangerrayy3 күн бұрын
Addiction is related to dopamine (the pleasure feeling) part of the brain. That same part of the brain delivers the pain feeling. If you are at a baseline feeling of neither pleasure or pain (homeostasis) and you get a dopamine hit. After that hit you get a dose of pain before returning to homeostasis. Addicts brains baseline from so much dopamine spikes eventually skew to the pain side. So you end up taking your fix to feel "normal". It takes about 4 weeks of quiting your addiction before for your brain returns to normal. 1 lapse even after prolonged abstenance returns your brain to addict brain
@dangerrayy3 күн бұрын
So if your brain is at homeostasis, doing some kind of painful unpleasant activity like a cold shower and exercise, the end result is a slow ling release of dopamine before returning to homeostasis

There’s a really great app that I use called Opal, and it’s been crucial in helping me break my phone/social media addiction. The free version is good, but I ended up getting the paid subscription version because it includes the “deep focus” mode where you literally can’t open the apps you choose to block for the time period you set. And you can set limits where it completely blocks the app after you reach the time limit you set. There’s no way to unlock them unless you delete the Opal app. It was huge for me in the first couple months of me breaking the addiction because I was literally unable to open the apps that I had the urge to use. Anyway long story short, it’s obviously jot a necessity but it could potentially be a big help in the beginning when the urges are still really strong while you’re breaking the pattern
@D.IronsWorld14 сағат бұрын
Just delete tiktok in itself won't help, you will feel pull to it next day for sure. You must have a discipline to stay clear of it. Try new things, do something with your hands (sport, books, car maintenance etc.), find new passion to distract yourself from the phone, and stop wasting your life! Nowadays internet is a garbage bin, all shitty influences, money, sex, drugs, memes all around, this is sick, be better, you can be better, just give yourself a chance and don't look back! You got this man!

A few days ago i got the chance to truly see and feel myself. I felt forgiveness, compassion, and somehow knew exactly where my path is going. To myself. And now i'm sad to let go of weed as my pacifier. It didn't even feel the same, i was even sadder smoking it and losing grasp of myself. Just letting go of weed, and accepting the weeklong bill of change wasn't something I was eager to do, but seeing this video, exactly now, I just can't continue. And i won't. Doing things that I know harm me is the first step away from myself. A way of acting out something, so i don't have to see myself, the irrational emotions, and flaws that come with it. Weed helped me to disguise that I'm not perfect. But instead i was nowhere to be found. With this newfound awareness of my own shenanigans, seeing that almost everything in a long time was staged by myself, I'm very curious to see who lies behind all this. He is not perfect, but he deserves the same chances I'm giving any of my friends. Be your own best friend is how i called it.

The protein and fat together keep ypu satisfied so keeps the cravings at bay. I did this for a year but slid back recently and have to do it again but now I know I can. It's so much easier when you're taking in a proper diet.

I quit smoking weed as an every day habit about 4 months ago. My bank account looks better, my motivation is better than ever before, my memory retention is sky high, and having anxiety it has become somewhat more manageable. I have tried smoking a couple times since and all it does is give me horrible anxiety, I tell myself "why've I done this?" I instantly regret it, I don't like the feeling. It's like having a pillow put over your face, but with your mind. Just being snuffed out, repressed. Waking up the next day wanting to stay bed locked for a couple hours. I ask myself why I did this for twn fucking years...? The biggest takeaway from quitting smoking is that it has improved all aspects of life. I don't plan on ever getting back into it, even in the couple of times I have done it since for assistance with sleeping, or to "have a good time" I realize it doesn't help with any of that.

The best option is definitely the one that gives you emotional relief from the perspective of someone who's exceptionally traumatized. awesome video, what I find interesting is that I think addictions exist that dont exist for the sake of avoiding a feeling. For example consuming entertainment, it mightve started because I was avoiding depression, but Im not really depressed anymore. The habit stayed and I just feel a lot of fomo probably, when I think about not checking out youtube. "Because its just so..much.. fun! much more fun then working out ehh, fuck that." this is what my brain thinks. This is a different form of addiction isnt it? Im currently trying to solve it by finding the fun and reward in productive things and always remember that low energy state I get in when I start consuming content. Obviously productivity feels better, its just so hard to realize.
@fightingpaindaily22656 күн бұрын
You really just hit the nail on the head. Some of that fomo you feel was created intentionally by marketing and attention experts. Just like cigarettes were made to be more addictive…same with foods. We start the negative habit to feel better, but quickly get an actual different addiction created on purpose.
@aCarolinaGal6 күн бұрын
Scrolling may have started to avoid feeling depressed, but the fomo you're feeling when you aren't scrolling social media *is* the feeling you're currently attempting to avoid. Every addiction is avoidance on some level, even if ultimately the only thing being avoided becomes dealing with withdrawal. Life itself - observing a sunrise/sunset, a brisk walk, watching the random critters nearby for 10 mins, listening to your favorite song, going for a joy ride, working out etc - all give the same dopamine hit we get from scrolling. Maybe you could find something new to replace the scrolling? My bet is it wouldn't take long to have a new, maybe even more enjoyable, addiction 😉
@Edwo16 күн бұрын
@@aCarolinaGal i agree with you, you could say that passion is a form of addiction. your mood depends on wethere you get it or not. i would just say that the solution is different when the problem is different. avoidance addiction = you need to pay attention to what you are avoiding, there is no actual passion for the distraction fomo addiction = you have genuine true interest in the distraction, it just happens to be bad for you would you still say this is the same? (genuinely, maybe you are right)
@denizcelebicom6 күн бұрын
My two cents as a life coach: 1) try to understand why the heck you‘re watching these shows. Maybe your job frustrates you, or stresses you out and you just want to binge watch something. 2) you need dopamine hits. Try finding other ways to spark some joy. Sports for example. The dopamine occurs AFTER the workout. With netflix & youtube the dopamine occurs WHILE doing it, which makes it so addicitive :)

Im 100% positive that behind the scenes Julien and his buddies are having the biggest laugh at how ridiculous he can show up to these free events and still have people sit there, take him seriously and still listen to him.

Regardless of your opinions on Julien if that guy paid for a course and successfully quit a drug then he got his moneys worth

Im addictet not to take that education that would make me go fourth. I sit and know it intirely and really tried to move on. I am affraid if not haveing money and i anytime on the last day on month not having any savings. I could just take a education that makes nore money but i rather wanna do something i know i love but i cannot have enough time to be what i want because my adhd makes me have really bad focus and emotions when it comes to education snd reading up stuff. Funny enough. I can look at theese videos sll day but it does nothing if i dont apply it in the Everyday!!? I sm 33 years and i dont produce any fucking shit ! I dont use strategies but really trie the authentic from the wihtin but its all empty. Really wierd feeling. Like apaty ? Not fully conssiious . And i dont know if thats the adhd symptom springing in
