What i got from this video... When i am angry it is because i am not getting something that i want. Even if its a good thing i want. Instead i pray for the good thing and when it comes i thank God! But when i try to get it through my own strength, ways of communication etc and it fails i am angry, Deep down at myself and it hurts. I must remember to ask God first and wait for his gift. If it doesn’t happen, its time to look for what good is in that outcome. Thats what i got from this video.

plz pray for me I lose my patience with my mother in law, I love her but she is always trying to get into my family's life. She gets real offended and emotional quick so idk what to do. She says she is a believer and I think she is but defintely not someone you can have a normal conversation with without her becoming the victim. plz pray the Lord would convict her of her gossip and manipulation and also pray I would not remain frustrated.

Please pray for me and my anger. I’m pregnant, and this whole pregnancy everyone around me has been unsupportive and emotional the whole pregnancy, only thinking of their own needs and desires. Trying to be patient and strong, have been patient, kind, and have not reacted in anger, but wish they would be able to deal with their own emotions instead of taking it out on me. I’m vulnerable enough as it is...

Please pray for me, an atheist is pointing out all my flaws and who I was, then said I am not a Christian. He has known me for a long time but since I started getting closer to Christianity he started to talk about me, speak bad about me, about my religion, about my people. I can’t deal with it and want to lash out. Can someone give me advice? I couldn’t even sleep last night because of this guy. Please pray for me. Please help me, I feel like this anger is making me insane.

Your sinful nature was crucified with Christ, and now HIS life is living in you, and you have a new nature. So while you’ll never be fully sanctified before you heaven, you can take refuge in Christ because he’s given you a brand new, spotless identity in Him. 🙂 Helps to deal with shame about the past, present and even future sin.

Anger is a secondary emotion and beneath the anger you will find sadness and emotional pain. Give your anger over to Jesus who understands and then motivate yourself to put that to work in a positive direction.

I feel a lot of anger at the Godlessness of the world around me. At the mass stupidity that has become so pronounced during this time of pandemic paranoia and social unrest. At the hypocritical and oxymoronic nature with which the two are dealt with differently by local leaders. At the nihilism of political extremists throughout the world. And at so much more. After putting my anger into perspective with the message of this video, I now feel that my anger is not wrong. But it was something that concerned me. I pray about it. And that is why I came here.

Please pray for me brothers and sisters. My wife wishes for my death. I have already lashed out 2 days ago and it made things worse. I've asked for forgiveness and all she wants is for me to die. Sooner than later. The evil spirits in me are getting me worked up to the point I'm having headaches because I refuse to lash out. I'm praying to the lord for peace. I honestly dont want a divorce but it seems it will end that way. I appreciate all your prayers for us. Whatever god wills let it be done. Amen.

His last statement was disturbing ‘I love it when men struggle with their anger.’ How does this help?
@imoimos
@imoimos 3 жыл бұрын
He means by this that when a man is in a place of acknowledging he has anger he then is willing to struggle with it and overcome the sin. There are a lot of people, men and women, who don't think their being angry is a sin -- to acknowledge it and feel remorse and want to change requires the holy spirit. I don't think he means he is pleased people have anger issues to begin with, only that those who do have anger issues and are willing to struggle against it instead of blaming others for making them angry, are pleasing, as it means they are on the path to fighting to overcome that sin. You have to acknowledge you are in the wrong to ever begin to change your behavior -- so that realizing you have something that needs to be struggled against is the first step. Let me give an example: Say there is a couple who are arguing and at some point either the man or woman hits the other. If the response of the offender is, well, you shouldn't have made me angry, I wouldn't hit you if you didn't anger me ... that kind of response is not one from the Holy Spirit. But if the offender acknowledges they have done something wrong in responding with anger and realizes they are the one in the wrong, the holy spirit is convicting them of the sin of their anger and that they need to fight against their being angry ... this second reaction, that of realizing they must fight against their anger, have a struggle with anger as opposed to be overcome by it, is what the pastor is talking about.

He’s saying that realizing you have a problem with anger is conviction from the Holy Spirit and evidence that God is working in you to lead you to freedom. It’s evidence that God is hearing your cries for help in this area of your life.

He is happy not at the expense of our suffering with anger (sin )but he is happy because knowing that we have a problem is the first step to recovery and healing, also on my part there's hope don't give up, because if you do I will get angry lol 😂

You lost me with not getting angry with someone who has caused harm to you. The Most High himself has been angry with his people. Anger is natural and human. Now where we go wrong is harboring an offense. Jesus even said says be ye angry but sin not. Let's look at what the sinful part is. Anger is not a sin

Yeah, this isn't it. Normally like Ed but here he overstates the case against anger. James 4 never mentiones anger, but argues against quarrels and the source of those quarrels is "our passions" (lit. pleasures)and coveting what another has been given. It's why James turns to God's jealousy as an answer against such coveteousness -- since God is the only one who has a "right" to anything. In practice, I'm sure the situation(s) being addressed by James did have an angry element to them -- but that's not what is being addressed as a primary in James here. Calling anger spritual adultery creates a problem because the LORD is angry, and righteously so. "Jesus was never angry when it was personal" is an argument from silence. The Gospels are not told with Jesus' internal monologue provided. What Jesus most certainly doesn't do is respond illegitimately to anger. Anger, for us, is dangerous and difficult to navigate given sin's prescence (Genesis 4 - God's dialogue with Cain about anger), and so it should be handled very carefully and with great awareness of what sin it could lead us into. But sinful and adulterous in-and-of itself? No. I think that message (just don't be angry because it's sinful) could actually be very harmful in the long run -- if I've understood him (Ed Welch) correctly.
