Overcoming Masturbation | My Addiction Story

Hi guys, this is a personal and a sensitive story for me to talk about. Lust, masturbation, fornication, smoking and pornography addictions aren't talked about ENOUGH (especially within the body of Christ), and I want those of you who are still struggling with some (or all) of the things I cover in this video to know that you aren't alone. If God could free me from masturbation of over 12 years, He can definitely do it for you.
This is my testimony that I hold on to, that if God could do this for me, He would also help me overcome every other addiction because I am not perfect. I depend solely on the Word of God and Holy Spirit to transform me.
Stop giving in to shame, guilt, and pride, because all of these are things that keep you from tapping into the freedom that Jesus has in store for you. Yes, YOU!!! You're not "disgusting", you're not "an embarrassment", and you're not "too much work" in the hands of God. You're never too far gone for Him to reach you. He loves you so much and He's calling you back home. I love you too lol, and I pray that this video was able to enlighten and encourage you in some way ❤️:)

Congratulations Cassie, I am glad you have the courage to share such a sensitive testimony. Unlike you, I knew the origin of mine and it started when I caught a very well respected and spiritual friend doing the act in the past and since then the battle ensued. I got over my addiction for porn and masturbation some months ago, it was a battle but I learnt alot from my experience. I prayed about it and asked God for wisdom but the devil keep reminding me that people better than me were caught in this horrible web. I had to understand myself and know my triggers and avoid them. I delayed gratification by giving myself 2weeks off, then 1 month, I forgive myself every time I relapsed and purnished myself by going days/weeks without social media. I got respectable persons that held me accountable for my actions. Whenever am in a group and it’s been talk about I open up and tell my story, if I hide it in the public, the battle in the secret gets more intense. I prayed and meditated. Lastly I channeled my energy and urge to intense exercise. Thanks for making me know the struggle wasn’t peculiar to me.

The never giving up on prayers is a primary, to me. The feeling of praying a "sinner's prayer" is a poison that weakens many pursuits for spiritual growth.. Many efforts to win sin simply avoid the triggers but remain in the battlefield; that's what happens when all steps are applied without the last that you've shared. Prayer, I've found, takes you above the battlefield, and the triggers become less lethal.. A proof of winning a battle, is an account that helps another through it; And this is one of such testimonies. More grace to you Cassie, Praying for you, and with you. 💕

This your gist today no be here o.... 🏃 I am proud of you! My take on this is... For people struggling with masturbation, especially when it has become an addiction or a thing of concern. You need to first open your eyes to what it does to you physiologically and mentally. The spiritual implications is not one i would want to delve into so that this is not too long. For guys it's different , ladies don't stand to lose as much as guys do when it comes to this (don't debate this) but it still has real life effects on how emotionally intelligent you are, which is still very important. It depeletes from you, energy you could invest into strengthening relationships and the pursuit of more meaningful exploits. You can never overcome such an addiction overnight, it will take the commitment to improve and the hatred of its side effects. You start gradually and eventually will find a way out. You can set a goal for yourself, i won't do it for at least a week, then 2 weeks, then a month and so on... Staying Alone does not help so dedicate more time to do things that excite and make you happy and that you are passionate about, Things that will engage your mind and body(this is different for different people). Masturbation is a real struggle for a lot of people but the basic thing is to first know it is nothing to be ashamed of and that you can learn to control it rather that have it control you. I could go on and on but let this be your take away... " It ruins having real relationships, you can start the journey to stop only if you believe and see that it affects things you find important and you can replace the addiction with a passion" . I will always curse the day I first masturbated. because I honestly never meant for it to happen. I didn't even know what the hell I was doing. I didn't even know about that terminology and all the sin that came with it. after that day it happened, that's when I discovered porn, as if I need more sexual images in my head. in 2019 I was delivered from it, but ever since I left my country to get a new job and started living on my own, that's when it happened again. this time it doesn't feel like I'm just doing it recklessly. I'm longing for affection, and I want to be married and start a beautiful family, but nothing has gone my way. I tried not to give into it because I know it is WRONG! many days I don't give into my fleshly desires, but some days I'm just tired of fighting. aside from prayer, I think for me personally love is the only way to beat this because that is the opposite of lust in my opinion. and that has been my prayer, for God to surround me with love and to help me find that special someone. it may sound crazy but that's what I feel.

Don't give up on fighting. The good thing is that you're fighting from a standpoint of victory. God is aware of your struggles and that's why God says in 2 Cor 12:9 that His Strength shall be made Perfect in your Weakness. Hold on His strength and most importantly don't give into the voice of condemnation. God Loves You

I think sexual struggle is something that happens within certain age range. Transitioning into puberty stage is a struggle on itself. I still can't wrap myself that the reason why God put that thing in us is because of giving birth,ohh let neglect the enjoyment aspect. How sweet it would have been "life without sexuality"

And anything that is done to the body, mind and spirit that doesn’t give God Glory is a sin. The health benefits you think masturbation has is nothing compared to eternal life with Christ which is a result of your decision to live a holy life that pleases God.
