This really is the best book! I read it a few years ago and it’s truly life changing….I still use the strategies today when my thoughts get sticky. Understanding why my thoughts get stuck and changing my relationship with them was really important for me too. Looking forward to part 2 🥰

I felt relief for like a week and then slipped back into old thinking. I read somewhere that traditional cbt in person therapy takes 6 months to wire in real change. For those that read this book, would you reread it weekly for several months to glue it into your brain?

I'm from Brazil and I heard a podcast from a lady here in my country. She mentioned this book and I decided to come here and see it. I'm going to buy it because since 2022 I've had intrusive thoughts of violent acts towards my wife and it's horrible because it creates anxiety in me, I get tired, I can't concentrate on other things. I'm usually sad about it and sometimes I can stop thinking, but there are days when it gets really bad to the point where my eyes burn and I feel really tired and stressed and trying to stop thinking. I underwent some therapies, 3 in total, but none of the psychoanalysts knew how to treat this. The little I'm learning to deal with is KZbin videos from professionals from other places. I hope to learn to deal with this and win because it is agonizing and very tiring.

Grew up in a religion that says thinking is the same as doing. So yeah. I had a very unhealthy relationship with my thoughts. Therapy. Therapy. Therapy.

I appreciate the resource, thank you. However, Ken. Please allow Sally to finish her thoughts. There were many times in this video where you upright stopped her mid thought.

Let me share this: Once i had a fucked up thought. Well a word popped up while I walked into a room full of weed smoke. I was in a 2 day alcohol and some coke bender in vegas. So the word rape had popped up and in a hotel there were ppl walking by but a kid happened to pass buy. So because that simultaneously happened I went into a full panic attack even called my friend and told him what happened. Anyway next day i felt a hangover forgot about it then BAM! Weeks or months later i remember that thought and panic again. Never told my gf and never wanted kids not because of fear but i felt unworthy. Anyway 15 yrs later i rarely get that thought because i made it less important. But like these people say about thoughts of me crashing into someone or pushing someone off a cliff to me its hilarious and NEVER BOTHERED ME EVEN SAYING “hey ima push the kid down or my down 9:04 kids lol this anxiety eent away after telling my 3 best friends amd they told me they had some too but never shared them with me. Also googling and finding out ppl get these I felt relief because I thought i was gonna go crazy or kill myself because of these thoughts.
