I'm really hoping you cover the solo!?!

Hey Lofty, solo? This is just an acoustic Colin Hay version, not the Men At Work version. Maybe I should have a look at it? Can you link a video and a time stamp? I'll check it out. Cheers!

I always thought this was in drop D tuning?
@SimonMorelguitar2 жыл бұрын
Hi Frank, thanks for watching. Yes you can drop the E to a D, that works well too, it would certainly give the first D a bigger sound. I've seen Colin play this so many different keys though. Hope that helps. All the best, Simon

Yeah it does. If it works it works eh? Musicians rarely play everything the same way every time and the studio version is just the one they laid down that day. Love your channel.

@@frankmachin5438 I couldn't agree more. That is what I tell people EVERY DAY! So often on here I get comments like, "that isn't what Keith Richards plays on the 1990 tour I saw him on" or "that isn't how Jimi played it at this obscure gig in 1970". There isn't a definitive way to really play anything - I think a good muso is one who can communicate the vibe of the tune across to their audience. And that isn't how many notes they play per second or even the way the original tune is on the record. Having said that there is definitely a benefit to learning how things are exactly played, but I really think that is a small part of learning the guitar. It's like a stop on the way to your final destination! Why would you want to play things exactly the same way over and over? How cool is it to be able to play great songs in your own way? Thanks for watching Frank - great to have you here. If you haven't subbed and hit the bell already, please do so you don't miss out on any lessons - plus if you are an Aussie or Aussie music interested, check out my new channel Aussie Guitar Lessons Weekly. You can find that at kzbin.info - all the best mate! Cheers, Simon
