Van life is living in a van and overlanding is focused on the travelling, the journey rather than the destination. The vehicle doesn’t matter, you can overland on a bicycle, motorbike, boat, car, van, pick up, really doesn’t matter.

Overlanding should also include multiple countries but I can understand it not when you live in a country the size of the US.

When I think of how I would want to travel, I think of Rocinante in Travels with Charley. We have a hybrid travel trailer that we pull with a 2015 Chevy Silverado, but I love the idea of having a truck camper Rocinante style with all the modern upgrades of usb, solar ect. Great job on the video. loved seeing (although too short at times) clips of all the clever ways to overland.

I missed it in your other video - did you get the 5' or 6' bed? I've currently got a modified Chevy Colorado (diesel) Bison with the Yakima HD rack system for my kayaks and roof-top-tent. I'm debating a Four Wheel Camper or the Alu Cab canopy camper. Looking forward to seeing your overlanding build.

Just looked up the expo . It's going to be in Stark Florida March 2023. If you are still in the US let us know if you will attend and we will meet you there. We live in Jacksonville so it's only an hour from us.

I’d love to travel by train, but would definitely go by boat or a pop top van - like a Nissan nv200 or a Mercedes Metris! We’ve been looking at some options!

My parents had a pop-up van and it was usually okay but leaked in driving rain. There is also one lake we camp by a few months each year where when the wind picks up canvas gets shredded so that rules out any pop tops for us

Hi,just found your channel , sorry if you have already discussed this in another video. but, why buy a pickup truck with a bed /tent in the back, compared to a van? .... the van seems the better choice.. am I missing something? ps I understand why you are buying a pickup truck now, because due to travel restrictions abroad.. but... why a pickup vs a van for nomad van life , life :)
