After watching so many adventure shows shot on GoPro, it's an absolute joy to see these locations through the lens of a real camera and people who know how to use them. Keep up the great work!

There’s something about a sandy troopy driving through that range country that is just so utterly perfect. Great clip 🤠

Flinders Ranges is at the top of my bucket list of places I want to visit, well before Cape York and the VIC High Country. Such a stunning area, so much unique geography.

For the money you've invested in your new rig, you'd certainly want it to be an improvement on Elsie! More convenient, less dust, no loud noises, comfortable and reliable would be a reasonable expectation I'd have thought. No disrespect intended. Another quality episode. Thanks.

Get some rear load assist bags my man. I’m running the exact TT gvm in my troop and it’s awesome for around town or small trips but when I’m up at the gvm it’s not great. That’s when you can put some air in the bags and take a little weight off the leafs and get the comfort back

We will see how it sits with the 5 leaf pack :) should sort it but we will see. That would be the next point of call but shouldn’t need it

Hey guys still getting my head around the new format, hopefully better to come as you said in this episode, bit more filming and a bit more scenery. Couple of things so the LPG cylinder on your back tire could end up getting your car defected or fined. No gas or unleaded allowed to be mounted on the back of vehicles. Which then could lead to more scrutiny and I’ve noticed the hinge up by your heads with the nuts and bolts, in the impact zone. I’m looking forward to seeing more to come and you show us the beautiful scenery that we have in this country. Something that is so overlord by people that live in this country.

If the springs are on edge at your max load then really they are good. Cause you'll only be getting lighter and riding better from that point on.

I’d like to known why Michael chose that truck. Does he use it for his work or just travelling. What license does he need etc. would love a full run down cost. Thanks for another cool video. Love the new troopy.

He mentioned that it's a 2008 model, so it's GVM is 6000kg, the crew cab chassis leaves the factory at 3070kg adding a tray (possibly steel) adds a fair bit so I would suggest it isn't running at 4495kg but instead running at the ex factory max of 6000kg. So a Light Rigid licence is required. Just as a matter if interest, the current NPS 300 has virtually the same ex factory crew cab chassis weight, but has an extra 1500kg carrying capacity, it's GVM is 7500kg. I would suggest he chose that truck because it has real estate in spades, plus a carrying capacity that makes Landcruiser owners and pretty much anything else in the standard 4x4 car/ute based vehicle owners really struggling to stay legal, dreaming of having the same carrying capacity.
@marks7120
@marks7120 Жыл бұрын
@@allanhugh2044 yeah I get all that, I know the specs too. I can also assume to why he got it, but I’d like to hear his thought process and why he didn’t choose something else. It’s a rare choice of build so it would be good to get more info.
@allanhugh2044
@allanhugh2044 Жыл бұрын
@@marks7120 Fair enough. Just one thing, I don't think it's a rare choice of build any more. Why? I have one, 2020 build, delivered April 2020. I personally know of two people waiting for their NPS trucks, both with a tray, one will have a slide-on camper and will be towing a boat, the other one a rooftop camper on top of a box similar to what is shown in this video. We have a slide-on camper on our NPS tray. On an outback trip last year, we came upon something like 7 NPS's and 1 Fuso. I believe there is currently an 18 month wait for the NPS, whereas when we ordered ours, third week of January 2020, it was in stock. Real estate, carrying capacity, and quite an attractive price are the big drivers. Plus, they are a hoot to drive.

I bet it's chalk and cheese when it comes to comfort & power between the 40 & 70 series. But there's something cool about the 40. It's got charm and character.
@OverlandTravellers

I agree there is something about a 40 but the 70 series is old at heart :) I think they have quite a bit of character as well

You don't miss the "soul" of the FJ45? I have an FJ62 and a 100 series in the US and just prefer the 62 because it almost being your friend you're traveling with, just so much character. The 100 is 10x more comfortable however and a V8 is nice.
@OverlandTravellers
@OverlandTravellers Жыл бұрын
We have a HJ47. We love the soul! We still have the old one we have plans with it. With the 60, have you done 50 thousands kms on the most remote and rough tracks? Also the 60’s are very comfortable and have lots of features compared to a 40.
