Great vid guys, love your set-up, on the problem of water pulling on top of awning, if you get some clips that don't harm the canvas and clip in-between the arms then some cord down to tent pegs slightly pulling down tension, the water runs of, and you can collect the water as well. Experiment with this it works, cheers, 🤗
@fritzintroopy3 жыл бұрын
Nice one mate. Thanks for the great tip!

Even easier is just loosening the tension on the awning, the canvas will drop in between the legs (gravity!) and create gutters for the rain to roll off 👌🏽

One of the best fitouts ever...simple, and functional...love how you've tailored it to your needs without doing the $20k install, but still have all the important basics. I like that you've bucked the current trend and incorporated a good sized sink...do you have a grey water tank, or does the outflow go to a bucket under the truck?
@fritzintroopy Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your great feedback. We do love the setup because it is simple and extremely functional. We have thought about changing it up but have realised there is no point as it works so well the way it is. We think a sink is an absolute must. We were even thinking about doing a quick video about this because we also can't believe how many of these new flash set ups people are putting in without a sink... just makes no sense to us. Regarding the grey water, we collect it in a bucket. We carry a 2 collapsable buckets, the second for freshwater for showering or doing the dishes outside which is rare. Cheers P&E

@@fritzintroopy Great, thanks for the reply...I'm doing a fitout now, and have always wanted a sink and running water inside, as I wont be just chasing the fine weather and living outside under the awning. Your missus' comment about being able to do teeth was the clincher. Also being able to rinse a cup or wash hands and face without facing a storm would be worth it. I would never pee in the sink in the middle of a freezing stormy nite tho! 🤫 Seeing the cara sized sink in yours has locked it in for my build too...just gotta work out how to do it so it functions just as well in doors, as it does when I'm out doors....wait, I hear an idea coming on...!

Hello Mr and Mrs Fritz, Thank-you for letting us follow you along with your troopy journey. Your tour through the troopy is very informative and full of great inspiration. From 6:02 in the video you start talking about the 30 second awning and I am interested in information regarding the side brackets and the rear corner bracket for the awning. Are these brackets custom made? I like the way they are bolted? or using rivnut? through the body section for strength. We have a fibreglass poptop troopy and therefore need brackets and awning support that is very similar to yours. Could you please post a link or reply with how they were made etc. I'm not sure if you can add pics or do a short KZbin video on the mounting system used. Keep up the great videos and and thanks for bringing your fun into our homes during these covid times.

Hi! thanks for the great feedback. The awning was fitted by Expedition Centre in Sydney and I think the brackets are made by them as well. Give them a call to find out more.
