Overlay Mosaic Crochet - Native Bliss Pattern 1 - Advanced Beginner Tutorial- MULTIPLE of 21 + 4

For those who want to work additional repeats to have an entire project in this pattern or larger section of this design within a mosaic you will work through all rows and then rewind back to Row 2 and complete Rows 2 through 25 as many times as you want.

In this tutorial I will teach you how to crochet this eye catching Mosaic design. This pattern is worked in a MULTIPLE of 21 + 4.
You DO NOT need the chart to do this tutorial, every row is shown in the tutorial. However, your purchase does help support my channel and is very appreciated! The chart is available for those who wish to purchase it instead of following the tutorial here on KZbin. The file contains both the single repeat taught here in this video and the additional repeats for those who want to continue for multiple repeats of the pattern. NOTE: Ravelry no longer accepts chart only uploads so unfortunately I can only utilize my Etsy shop at this time.
Mosaic crochet is great for all skill levels and can be used to create many different things such as blankets, pillows, purses/bags, totes and garments. The result will be an eye catching, geometric design that is unisex and versatile.
Suggested starting chains for various projects - counts include +4 at end:
Baby blanket: 109 to 130 chains depending on yarn size used
Throw blanket : 151 chains, yarn size will affect total width and the number of repeats is up to you and will determine total length
Tote or Throw Pillow: 46 chains depending on total desired size of tote/pillow
Makeup or Notions bag: 25 to 46 chains
Scarf: 25 to 46 chains depending on yarn size used and desired width. I recommend size 3 light weight yarn or smaller for garments. This stitch out will have you work the pattern in the width of the scarf moving up additional rows to create the total length.
You can create any project you like from Mosaic Crochet, these are just a few suggestions!
HOOK SIZE: I am using a 4.25 mm hook in this tutorial. I recommend using the below hook sizes depending on yarn used:
3 DK yarn : 3.5mm to 4.5mm
Size 4 Medium/worsted weight: 5mm to 5.5mm.
Mixing 3 & 4 weight: 4mm to 4.5mm
THE YARN: I'm using size DK/3 yarn by Hayfield Bonus DK Extra Value. Any brand will work, as well as any size. Note on mixing yarn sizes 3 (DK) & Size 4 (Medium Worsted weight): THE TRICK TO MIXING YARN SIZES IS JUST KEEPING YOUR TENSION EVEN AND USING THE SMALLEST SIZE HOOK RECOMMENDED FOR THE SMALLER YARN! You can use any yarn size you like and can use yarn that is all the same size, you do not have to mix yarn sizes.
To begin your project you will chain in multiples of 21 plus 4 at the end. You will skip the first chain and begin working in the second chain from the hook, ending up with an odd number of stitches. EXAMPLE: I chained 25 and had 24 stitches at the end of row 1.
Stitches used in this project: Back Loop Single Crochet and Front Loop Double Crochet (drop down double crochet as I like to call it).
