My favorite 1176 plugin! Love the mid-side trick on the organ, definitely gonna use that myself!

Why on Earth did they make the attack and release knobs work the other way around is beyond me...Thanks for a great review (as always).

My guess is that's probably just the way they decided to do it. But who knows, maybe it was done by mistake and they just said F it, that's the way it's gonna stay. Too many things in audio are done by accident...

@@skyrise4996 In many ways, 1 being fast and 7 being slow makes more sense and maybe they thought it would be more logical/easier for people to understand. I have never been able to find out why the original hardware was 7 fast and 1 slow. Maybe they wired it backwards? Also, why 1-7 and not 1-10? Still a great plugin...

Easiest solution would be to put some extra label on the knobs, to indicate where fast and where slow is...the original handling sure isn’t intuitive.

with a million 1176 plugins out there, reversing the attack and reelase from the norm has me never reaching for this one, which is really unfortunate because I love this company.

interesting I was just thinking about a plugin that could let you toggle between different revisions of the 1176. Very cool to see a modern approach to it. Thanks for the review, will be checking this one out as a extra color in my 1176 crayon box lol

Hi Mike, I agree with you. The blue face 1176 is not warm. It aggravates me when people confuse midrange distortion as "warm". I would like to know how so many people get this confused though. I totally understand that we all hear differently but midrange distortion shouldn't be warm to ANYONE. That's called grit (or use another synonym of your choosing)! Lol!
@mixingwithmike4 жыл бұрын
I think there's a tendency to believe older is warmer which is largely true for most gear. In this case, I think the LN circuit design changes had the benefit of rounding out the sound. Either way, I LOVE having all 3 versions on the same UI for the tonal variation.
@skyrise49964 жыл бұрын
@@mixingwithmike Completely agree. LN is awesome for rounding out the edges. Rev A is better for aggression. They are both great in their own right.

Hey MIchael! Another one knocked out the park. Just a side question, were you the one who tracked the vocals? Whether or not do you know the tracking chain? Vocals sounds really Good.

Way too much talking. Why do plugin reviewers talk so much and demo the plugin so little? I want to hear plugins on a ton of different sources, and not the reviewer rattle on about how 'in theory it should sound really good'. More plugin, less chatter.
