This adventure hit home. I have that exact same Jansport backpack (which I bought new in the early 80's) and still use it for heavy loads. I also had Camping Gaz stoves and lanterns which were the best until I could no longer find their proprietary fuel canisters. Agree with you about sleeping on those old closed-cell foam mats. They worked but I'm too old to be sleeping on the ground.

I watched 2 guys. Use clear plastic covering front of shelter. Plastic directed the heat in tent. Maybe you could try a video. Set up so wind hits tent first, then fire 3 feet ish in front of door. Plastic cover clothes pins, rolled over 2 poles stuck in ground. Since f2 has 3 in trances. Something to think about. You tube far north bush craft. Watch him your self. Good saying hey.

Morning campers… Another enjoyable camping adventure Mark. You know by now I’m a fan (along with Andy & Simon). I do enjoy the vintage specials. Where does one find them for sale and what’s the price range please? Now onto the serious business… Us viewers need longer videos. Let’s see the wood prep, some serious cooking, a bit of bushcraft. You know the score. Similar length to Andy and Simon to give you an example. I like ya style, just need to see more! The channel is monetised so it’s a win, win scenario. What da ya fink old chap? Best wishes from not so sunny Northamptonshire 👍🏼
@mdmoutdooradventures
@mdmoutdooradventures Жыл бұрын
Afternoon fellow camper 👍 you can find these tents on eBay from anything from £100 and up depending on condition. The thing is if I put the wood prep in every video then it would just get boring and as for cooking well I hate cooking so it will always be simple meals I’m afraid, I hate cooking so much 😂 it’s just not enjoyable for me and enjoying myself is the main reason I go camping to escape the normal day to day life and routine 👍 but I will try and get some longer videos out in the future 👍

Hi mate,8 bought the Pre Vango force 10 before it was even a thing. An elderly couple had bought the bright orange canvas tent mail order new and when it arrived,it was missing the A pieces,so they wrote to the company and received a full new tent and told to discard of the other one,that was in the 70s,he put it up the loft and forgot all about it. I bagged it on eBay,brand new never been used or set up about 2 years ago,and simply bought the A pieces online. Yet to use it but such a good sturdy tent,Vango bought that company over and ceased production and simply rebranded the tent to Vango force 10.

You need to get that poor tent out and use it mate , poor little tent 😂😂 . Yeah they are very sturdy and from what i understand due to the sturdy design they used them back in the day on Mount Everest . If you type into KZbin vango force 10 tent you should see the short documentary video that was made about 7 years ago with the founder of vango being interviewed, has a nice bit of information in that video 👍 he started vango in his cupboard under the stairs .

So how did you come by this old Vango Force 10 and where from? Were you specifically looking for one or just retro gear in general? Do you know when it was manufactured from and until? We're you warm enough overnight and how would you say it compared to more modern tents? Did you find out how much this would have retailed for at the time? Did you get rain overnight?, I can't remember you saying! Interested to know how it fairs in the wet? Oh yes and was it heavy? You did seem mildly flushed in your intro!
@mdmoutdooradventures

Yeah it is heavy for sure but a fantastic bit of kit . I believe they first hit the market in 1967 or 1968 and was the first tent vango designed and put on the market even using them on mountain Everest back in the day . I’ve been looking at them for a while but most of them I saw was always bright orange so I was just waiting for the right colour to show its face
