Overpopulation is only a problem if you want to be able to eat and have clean drinking water. You can see the effects of population if you look at California. Water supplies are at critical level. we have water for people but not farming which means you now have to add food crisis to the water crisis. Also, hydropower doesn't work when there isn't enough water, so now we have an energy crisis on top of the food crisis on top of the water crisis.

It’s very clear that it’s not a red blue issue a communist capitalist issue or any form of government. More or so it’s a population issue in 2014 when they had the massive droughts where people had no running water or shower and had to buy bottled water to do so there was articles leaking around that overpopulation if there are 35 million people there in each one of them drinking average of a gallon of water a day and several gallons from showers and running water, faucets, and laundry hundreds of millions of gallons of water every single day and even a coworker I had at the time which sigh and say there’s too many people when you look at the rules and it’s very clear that it looks like they’re trying to drive the population out

Some animals like cheetahs are endangered because of overpopulation which turns their natural habitat into farms and restricts their ability to hunt.

Well as far social norm is concern the inflow of knowledge is good and all. This video is completely wrong. The message I get is that if we do things correctly, overpopulation is not a problem. Well we aren't doing things correctly and hoping that we will have the wisdom to do those things correctly is a stretch to say the least. I have to get to work, but there are so many problems on this earth directly related to a large human population that I just don't have time to get into all of them. Overfishing, depletion of Amazon rain forest, accelerated loss of animal species, huge ocean pollution, increasing gas prices, more difficulty finding oil fields, severe water shortages (south Africa, other parts of the world will follow), land conflicts, stress on infrastructure, etc. What about population density problems? We just spread people around to the areas that have low population density because we can now work remotely? Good luck with that. What this video doesn't even mention is that when a society becomes more advanced, they consume a lot more. We saw this with the rise of the Chinese middle class not too long ago. Oil prices went through the roof, beef consumption, etc. The earth can only take so much before it will solve the problem for us.

I disagree. The resources on the planet are very limited and all people want to live like Europeans and americans, using lots of resources each. The planet is getting exhausted and the climate is changing. If we want to live well we must at least control world population. Pollution can be limited but will not fall to zero, just think about all the plastic in the oceans. Who can afford to eat fish in the coming decades?

Overpopulation is not a myth, look at the US, we are suffering severe problems due to having more people than resources. California is a prime example of overpopulation. We are running out of water, and we cannot farm so food will be scarcer by fall, and the electric grid cannot support the population's needs without the water to run the generators.

Alux maybe you should go to Davos World Economic Forum in January 2022 and give a speech on overpopulation. I agree with Alux educating women and giving jobs to women will reduce overpopulation. A lot of countries and regions of the world are underpopulated. Countries like Canada, Australia, Argentina and regions like West China, the USA Midwest, the Sahara Desert, Siberia. New discovery in airconditioner, and turning air into the water makes desert life and tundra life possible.

Stage 5 population is actually horrible because too many old people will be in the economy and sense they do not work they will take money from the government. When birth rates are low it means more and more youth will be required to take care of the elderly and as the population is going old less youth will be available for the job. Which in return slows down the economy.

Living in New York City, and watching its population grow over the past 20 years by 1 million, yes, even on this micro level, population growth is a problem. For one, we have been forced to build ever more vertically. Each 50, or more, story tower requires more energy to sustain than many small cities. Many of these new towers dwarf the Empire State Building making NY look more like Beijing or Singapore, as opposed to its once iconic skyline and landscape. The human pressure on our transit system is going to cause major problems in the next few years. Sure, the plan is to add more bus routes and modernize the subway signal system to increase train service, which will certainly help, but why should that be needed at all? When the city housed 6 million people (instead of the 8 1/2 million today), the systems ran fine, thank you very much. The quality of life is lower since we've grown too. Of course, there is the homeless problem, but even with reliable trash collection, the rat population is booming faster than humans. Then, lastly, there is the simple nuisance that New Yorkers are everywhere. You can't walk on a quiet street, sit in a park or sit in your own yard without encountering dozens of our fellow citizens, and that's at 3am. I want to live in a city that is bustling with people, not bursting at the seams.

There is a thing called Ecological Debt Day - the day the human race uses up the needed resources that the Earth can produce in a given year. 15 years ago that date was in late October. Five years later it was in mid-October. I don't know what it is today, probably sometime in September. The point being, the real problem with over population is consumption of goods and resources, and how elastic they are to serve a growing population.
