Quick question if I may. I live in the UK so different climate. Had a terrible winter which has left bare spots all over my lawns. I want to level it all out and overseed repairing all the bald spots. Should I repair first to see some growth and then level. Or level with sand and then overseed. Thanks

Hey Ben I have P Rye, it’s around 13 months since I seeded. Water is difficult as I’m in regional Vic and survive on tank water. I need to overseer and top dress with more soil. Q, I have areas where compaction has occurred and the base of my grass is 50 to 75mm below my edges. What sort of thickness of soil can I add to existing grass.

Hey mate, have around 30 square metre of lawn that I need to cover with sand. Could you recommend a sand I should use or a top dress, either is fine! Just doing a bit of a project on my front yard. Cheers mate

Been watching since day one. Please get a gorilla garden cart from bunnings. 10x easier to move around the garden and holds x2 the amount of soil aswell. I have since retired my 3 Sherlock barrows since we got these. Wheelbarrow is old school. Try it mate. My 65 year old dad carts around my daughter with one hand using the gorilla cart.
@chevron9163 жыл бұрын
How do the carts go with a sloping block?
@adamg69943 жыл бұрын
@@chevron916 Great because they also have a hinge bin that can be attached to a ride on mower. Also its alot easier to pull then push. Wheels are also flat free. There are 2 different sizes. Definitely get the bigger one mate. Have saved my arms and my back alot since I don't use the wheel barrow anymore.

So, can I ask, how much do you estimate you would spend on your lawn, $$ wise, in a season? I realise that you probably get discounts etc etc but it would be interesting to know. As someone doing his lawn on basically $0.00 budget, it would be good to know what getting to your level costs.

Really great vids, a big thank you for some rye lawn content it’s helped me deal with withdrawals over the winter here in the UK. I’ve been following your channel now for a little over a year and I completely went to town on my lawn 5 months ago and put down Dwarf Perennial Ryegrass and I love it. Question what setting for the over seed did you set Scott’s drop at? Also here in the UK we can’t legitimately get Tanacity so I’m after another way to stop POA coming pack. Keep up the good work.

Question for you I’ve got real heavy clay soil and thinking of removing the top 200mm and putting in some Sandy loam would you separate it from the clay with a permeable non woven geo textile fabric or a layer of gravel?

Love an overseed bud. I've achieved good results with peat moss. Keeps the seed moist and doesn't change the level of the lawn. Problem is that it costs a heap. If anyone knows where I can get it for

Ahh I've the same drop spreader from Scotts. Used it last year for the first time and for it being a cheap spreader I was pretty impressed.. although I would prefer it if it could dish out heavier amounts as Id often gone over the same area twice. (getting close to 100k subs!)

How is it possible your lawn is dry? Thought you have a bore for watering
@LawnTips3 жыл бұрын
Talked about it a bit in the last few vids 👍🏽 Had lots of rain and roots became quite shallow (because of all the extra rain) I assumed it would be ok because of the rain so I backed off the watering without really keeping an eye on some trouble spots. They dried out really quick because of the shallow roots.
