Maybe he approached the second girl to get her cousin jealous. A lot of guys even say if they can't get her, they'll go after other women she knows. Thats the most trifling behavior a guy can do off rip. Also, he asked for her hand in marriage twice and now he's trying to get her cousin, so he's trying to find anyway in. It might not be because of the family, it could just be an ego thing. You're both right though that this story needs more context, especially with regards to why he was rejected twice and his character.

I would advise her to not marry him. It seems like he really likes the cousin very much that he asked for her hand twice. His heart is already with the other lady so sis don’t waste time.

I know someone who was in a relationship for 15 years, got married and divorced the same day, then out of spite got with and married her first cousin. The first cousin was fully aware of the situation too and still accepted to marry him. Crazy lol.

Emmm. If you like the man, have gotten to know him, and he’s a good man and wants to marry you because of Allah, by all mean. He may have wanted your cousin because of certain qualities he’s seen in her and the family but she turned him down twice. He is allowed to move on. Islamically he can ask for your hand in marriage. Do it because you want him and know he wants you too. Your cousin might only want him back because she doesn’t have anyone still

So every time your cousin is around your husband, or family functions etc.. you’ll be feeling insecure and jealous, thinking he wanted her first.. it’s better to say to the guy, if you want to marry her I think she will agree now and see what his his next actions are. Also I don’t think suspicion he’s interested in the cousin, they are probably all cousins and have to get married in the family lol he might not be aware of their closeness.

I do not like that it seems like he is making the other cousin a second choice/rebound, however since their muslim why not fulfil the sunnah of polygamy by marrying both of them? Please do not attack me guys it is a win win solution, the girls just need to bare in mind that he will honestly only love one, but that does not mean he can slack on the one he does not love. He should live with them in a just manner, treat them kindly and they must all live honourably. Polygamy is not a bad idea, but people can be bad.
