I’ve been dealing with severe panic attacks for about 5 years and I think this perspective in the beginning of the video is really going to help me. It might sound dramatic but I think it might potentially save my life. Thank you so much for sharing 🙏🏻

This has been a really invigorating conversation. Can you tell? Just because someone is a physicist at MIT and is incredibly intelligent does not make them a well-rounded human being! Some of our greatest minds in science have been exceptionally cruel in their personal lives, and you can find this in any specialty. Also, you can find the most compassionate people who know nothing about day to day practical matters. None of us is perfect, but I stand by the idea that if a person knows their worth in the word as a spiritual individual and as a part of their community, the chances of them getting addicted to a substance or activity is slim to none. Once a body is in it though, it takes the whole of those surrounding them to get them out intact and feeling "right" once more, if they ever felt it.

i have had panic and anxiety disorders for decades. i have a kind of toolbox, and am glad to learn things to add to it. breathing exercises and forward movement are 2 of my top helpers. forward movement can be walking, biking, or even driving. i also drink these little very strong ginger beers. and when you develop a little set of things you do when you feel the panic coming on, you condition yourself to believe that you are now going to do several things that will help bring your levels back down, and so it does.

Your videos have been so challenging to me as I have realized my lifestyle is killing me. I am an RN in Australia. I was diagnosed with PMP which really was a turning point to get myself together. For years I have been posting to my very small KZbin channel Jules Cruise Companion. You can see over the years my fluctuating weight and even my ability to breathe before the HIPEC and removal of my omentum from my diaphragm. I have been feeling the effects of advertising, government policy, and my cruising on my health and knew I had to get fitter. I have been Keto Carnivore on and off now for a year or so. I have been vlogging my carnivore thoughts as they are cruise-adjacent. Watching all the vlogs on KZbin has inspired me to move the Keto Carnivore vlogs to their own channel which I have called 'Carnviore Cruiser' which I made live today. Thanx for the diverse range of content you post. HUGE THANK YOU AGAIN. Stay Safe Jules

Some of us, when we have access to as much candy as we want, get sick of it very quickly, and others of us, can't stop. Very different ways of being in the world. If people's lives are merely driven by instinct and lack any understanding of their mental/emotional landscape, then finding liminal space to become aware in the moment of behaviour is impossible. And though I do appreciate the animal experiments (non-harmful ones) we might remember that humans for all their flaws, are not rats and seagulls. They can give us clues, but there is decidedly much more to us than what initially meets the eye.

If in person conversation is risky, why wouldn't more people be addicted to it? Shouldn't there be a higher dopamine rush from that than the predictable texting and editing? In my workplace I'm beginning to see young people with emotionless expressions. They only react facially when deliberately engaged. It's getting scary out there.

As you Ragan said, "Given how alien our world is" points toward the issues. Specifically, chemically toxic air and food which affects our brain via the gut/brain axis, and chemicals easily pass through the olfactory skin membranes. People diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities have injured limbic systems due to chemical or mould exposures that causes the limbic systems to stay in the sympathetic, fight flight response. Our bodies are being bombarded with chemicals to the point that our limbic system is constantly activated, combined with stress and overstimulation it makes sense that so many people have mental health and anxiety issues. Compounding this with employment, financial and global economic instability people are living in an unhealthy environment which makes sense that people are in a perpetual state of anxiety. it's no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

I don’t pretend to know all the answers, but a lot of these ills come from the always growth economy, advances in food ultra processing, and that it’s much easier to build a brand (and charge a premium) for Choco Fudge Snak (TM) rather than an apple or banana

@@TheoLister Hi, yes, and also people drive cars everywhere: is there a connection between poor physical health and poor mental health? For sure. We feel too stressed to cook basic foods,. I live in Scandinavia, as an ex-pat, and walk 2 or 3 miles each day- to de-stress and to think. We are literally driving ourselves to extinction. What the two professors discuss in the video about overstimulation and evolution is astonishing.

Acronym for fear: False evidence appearing real.. The Bible says God has not giving us the Spirit of fear. We can bring the fearful thoughts captive through prayer and rejecting the negative thoughts & replacing them with posituve, uplifting thoughts.. If breathing works for you that's fine too. Excersie and diet can affect moods and thoughts..

The cause of such in increase in allergies is completely in line with the increase of vaccinations across the board. We are bypassing our immune receptors and poisoning ourselves causeing autoimmune conditions to skyrocket. Not just tribes in Kenya but the Amish or Mennonite communities that still avoid modern medicine are remarkably healthier overall than the rest of the modern population.

My question is do we have any specific diet plan that we can follow at home.I am an Indian residing in U.S and I try my best to introduce herbal and homemade food recipes but still the questions keeps on hovering me all the time if we have any specific diet that can help in getting him heal better and make his immunity much better. We have met his dietician but they always have all common answers more vegetables, nuts and fruits, more protein etc. Please do make a podcast for parents like me or anyone who is dealing with this situation. Thanks and Regards !! Anyone that experience anxiety knows that it come form your body and stomach! You can feel all day and the your mind try to deal and fix the problem constant! It sad to hear that an educated doctor like this still believes your emotions comes from your brain?? I mean what? How can you be that wrong! This guy really does his jobb to help but it’s sad that he is so fooled by the medical/ and big pharma that he really believes emotions comes from the brain!

Yes, right.... But, ... Except previous civilisations did live many years longer than the average lifespan of today's generations. We have been tricked, by being told and believing people in our recent past lived shorter live spans, than we do today. May be true. But the previous civilisations, to modern history, there's buried evidence that people lived a lot longer lifespans than modern society lives today. There's evidence in some old indigenous tribes, eg. The Hunzas, their men folk are still fathering children at 70 years old.
