Why is it inappropriate to criticize Israel's policies because "they're their own country," but it's okay to blame Joe Biden for the fact that they're at war? Mace talked out of both sides of her mouth the whole show (like a true politician) with almost no pushback.
@kimberlywalker39702 ай бұрын
I agree with whomever said we give them money so; we have room to talk. BTW, it's Netanyahu who ignored the warnings of an attack. I've never liked this man, period. This is the same SOB, who went to congress and tried to sabotage the Iran Deal now, he's telling the US to F off and has the nerve to take our aid. The least the US can do is call out his horrible polices that lead to this war. The best is either yank his aid or put some strict conditions on it. Israel may be a friend to the US, but Netanyahu isn't. I think his past and present behavior proves it.
@deborahfreedman3332 ай бұрын
Mace is the only honest one. Once again, the US is meddling without understanding the problem. First, there is nothing deplorable about Netanyahu's policies, and to say so is slander. The only deplorable situation is how the far left have entrenched themselves in the courts and the army, so that those for security can never rise to power. BTW It was those leftist elites who ignored all the warnings, because of their mistaken concepts, and illegally did not notify the government of what was occurring.

George Carlin once stated that corporations own the government. This implies that in order for society to invest in human capital, which is necessary to prevent people from falling into a life of crime, corporations would have to influence the government that they own. The government should be incentivized to provide training, education, and a better environment for communities. However, corporations do not prioritize communities, and therefore, the government doesn't either. They only do enough to meet their minimum obligations, and as a result, the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. Violence is used as a distraction because corporations want people to focus on that instead of the fact that they are the root of the problem that has afflicted our human society.
@Krndn422 ай бұрын
George Carlin “But there’s a reason. There’s a reason. There’s a reason for this, there’s a reason education sucks, and it’s the same reason that it will never, ever, ever be fixed. It’s never gonna get any better. Don’t look for it. Be happy with what you got. Because the owners of this country don't want that. I'm talking about the real owners now, the real owners, the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the senate, the congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying, to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I'll tell you what they don’t want: They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. Thats against their interests. Thats right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. They don’t want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you, sooner or later, 'cause they own this fucking place. It's a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club. And by the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head in their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table is tilted folks. The game is rigged, and nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. Good honest hard-working people -- white collar, blue collar, it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on -- good honest hard-working people continue -- these are people of modest means -- continue to elect these rich cocksuckers who don’t give a fuck about them. They don’t give a fuck about you. They don’t give a fuck about you. They don't care about you at all -- at all -- at all. And nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. That's what the owners count on; the fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue dick that's being jammed up their assholes everyday. Because the owners of this country know the truth: it's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.” ― George Carlin

I had to watch the full episode twice, because I was so floored to hear Rep Mace express some thoughtful opinions (some of which I somewhat agreed). I was especially struck by the stark dichotomy of the Nancy Mace I've seen my personalized feed the last few months vs. the Nancy Mace I saw and heard tonight, speaking freely and unedited. Also, *I had completely forgotten her courageous and compelling appeal to Congress regarding the Dobbs Decision* 😳 Thank you, Mr Maher, for reminding me that I am not always right (far from it!) and - especially - that it is imperative these days for EVERYONE to SEEK OUT opposing positions; *there is NO One Source that can provide objectivity* ... we have never had true objectivity, but today *'spin' = $$$* especially right now, right here. It's one of the downsides of capitalism (I maintain this is still the best system created by humans, but we need to be realistic and intelligent, recognizing that *nothing* is "Perfect".

The problem with going to less hours per week, is that it gives the employers the idea that maybe they don't need us at all. The truth is, we have to mandate 40 hours a week because originally employers felt they needed us 50 or more hours a week and we had to back them off of that. But now automation is endangering our jobs, and asking for less hours may just push the time scale up in which we all find ourselves unable to find jobs..If we pass this law, we should make sure its also accompanied by a law banning replacing the workers with automation in the work place.

Making it state wide would likely be a bad idea. Maybe if you had a progressive scale tied to the cost of living in an area, but even that might cause issues.
