Those years Jon wrangled the Daily Show were some of the very best TV had to offer. You could tell he loved and supported his "correspondents" and it was obvious how much he enjoyed being outshone by them when they did their best work. I wish we could hear his voice a little more often these days, as it brings a very calming kind of silliness with sincerity that keeps me sane!

Now Stephen is referring people wanting Jon run for president. I am so glad he referred to this, like Dave Chappelle. I have wanted this for well over 10 years. One reason so many of us KNOW that Jon would be perfect for the job, is that he has demonstrated that he knows how to explain problems and solutions logically. He is persuasive, which is one of the most important qualities for a president. We KNOW Jon would communicate with USA politicians and world leaders, ask the right questions, and logically present solutions, until something was done.

I've saying Stewart/Colbert would make a great administrationfor years, but i fear that there is truly a lot of hard calls they arent prepared for, and I genuenly love them so much, I'd hate to have those burdens placed on their shoulders. They'd make the perfect Press Secretaries or maybe Speakers of the House though. That's where they shine. Being able to digest and regurgitate complex issues for everyday people.

@@jynx2501 For sure, the burden would be great. The work is more demanding than any job, in the world. It would upend Jon's, and his family's life, forever. It is dangerous work. It is a personal decision, for him. In the past, he said he would never consider running. I have to imagine that many political and community leaders have encouraged him to reconsider. He certainly has the right resume for the job.

They seem to have a special friendship. I forget who said it but when Jon is in the room there is no one smarter and when Stephen is in the room there is no one nicer.

@@Pokarot I can't speak for you, that the way Colbert can speak for Jon Stewart, due to their special relationship, but if I'm being frank and honest, though I can't confirm there is any kind of homosexual relationship between these two men, I really hope that there is isn't, because I'm not too pleased when I feel pressured by certain information to imagine respected professionals re-enacting scenes or approximating the events in Brokeback Mountain, even in their private time. I just wish celebrities would keep their hands, mouths, and genitals to themselves, and also would stop shoving awards down and in each other's orifices or into each others palms constantly, patting each other on their far from broke backs. I'd probably respect a bit of an anti-social, anti-socialite celebrity who says no to attending one of these things or receiving these obnoxious self-congratulatory awards that the extremely rich circulate among themselves. I don't even understand this tradition, but I think it should be reaching its expiry date.

Jon Stewart did change late night shows. Thanks to his inspiration late night talk shows now have far more integrity than regular 'news' casts who abdicated their primary responsibility of journalism since the 90s and are only now trying to catch back up.
