My man, this is so detailed and well done, It really helped since I started playing like some hours ago and I had never touched a really tough bullet hell game (atleast for me) since I mostly just played some games with those kinds of concepts of bullet hell but there was never this much stuff on screen like on touhou.. So I got to cirno all by myself on lunatic in a few tries, lost like idk, 3 lives, then I had to use a continue mid-fight and then stage 3 happened so I just decided that I would watch a video that would kinda help me-

I used to be a ReimuB player when i played this game for the first time earlier this year but after having the most clutch 1cc with Marisa, I felt this unbreakable comradery with Marisa and have played her since. Anyway i look forward to suffering through those patchy spells on lunatic

Long story but important to me: Recently in a Discord server I’m in, a new role got introduced: “Got Gud”. Someone first got it for beating an Elden Ring boss and then the moderator awarded himself the role after beating all the hardest bosses in Kingdom Hearts 2. We were talking about this, and I had recently beat this game on Normal, but with continues, so I asked if I could beat it on Normal without continues and get one of the good endings, if I could be awarded the role. The mod said yes, as long as I could provide video evidence. However, someone else in the server named “Splitjaw” knew about Touhou, and so he said “Lunatic difficulty or bust.” So that’s why I’m here... trying to figure out how to beat Lunatic mode... so I can have a fancy colour on my name. I really love playing Touhou 6, and I’m sure I’ll love the rest of the series too, but if I had to make one criticism of it, it’s that the records don’t let me write out “F#ck You Splitjaw”. Anyway thank you for your service, I’ll comment again once I’ve beaten it.

Good luck! A Lunatic 1CC is harder than anything in Kingdom Hearts 2 or Elden Ring, in my opinion, so feel good about it once you get that role.

cool video and very informative. One nitpick of mine I think it would be better to record footage on original touhou aspect ratio. maybe its just me but widescreen on touhou makes me uncomfortable.

You way of doing the sakuya's midboss is wrong you can time her out like you said but that's at the cost of a whole life instead you can go to the right up of her hitbox( be careful not to get too close just close enough to be able to deal damage) and shoot to deal her damage, then when her first row of knife comes you should move slightly until you reach her top left hitbox, when the second row comes close to you(about 3/4 of the way) go back up to safety repeat until she's out Edit: it's about 52:00

You're right, there is a decent window of time to get some damage off after her second wave. I probably assumed it wouldn't give you enough time to finish off the attack and didn't give it a shot for my self. Thanks for pointing that out!

Is there any penalty for increasing the amount of lives you start with using the options?

Only a score penalty at the end of the game. You can still play all 6 stages even if you increase your lives, though.

Oh yeah the only problem I only had with the vid was your voice, it was kinda gravely sometimes so it was hard to understand, or it was the microphone, but other than that great video.

Part of it is probably my mic setup (I found a good setup near the end of my Hifuu Fragment video, but didn't re-record the whole thing with it), but part of it is also my throat, and I plan on having that looked at in the near future. This one is really a struggle. The RNG always screws me over from stage 4 onwards. I did get to Remilia some times but never got a Lunatic 1cc. And it also sucks that the hitbox of the bubbles is bigger than the games after. In Kaguya's fight for example, it really feels like I'm just able to go through them as long as I don't touch the black part in her bubble nonspell, but in TH6 it feels like the hitbox extends more to the colored area which makes me stressed to go near them due to the weird hitbox size.
