That is some beautiful obsidian! .. Can you imagine how pleased an old time knapper would have been to have access to that copper bopper (that's really fun to say! ) and those pressure flakers?

For sure! What I always think is interesting is that once people started working copper, their knapping gets super complicated and you see greater detail. That said, copper tools never replace stone and bone tools. Even today.

😆 I get that. It took about a year of knapping before I felt like I was in a my way decent. The only real advice I can give is keep going! If you can find a local knapp-in it helps to sit with other knappers. There are lots of free knapp-ins around the world these days. Thank you for watching!

I see no reason you can't make both on the same tool, using a cork to cover the spike, while bopping....

You're right. Honestly, even adding a cork isn't needed. My current personal knapping tool is a solid piece of aluminum cast in the shape of a deer antler point with the back end rounded for percussion knapping. Thank you for watching!
