I have a 2005 Kodiak 450 that I bought in 2006. 4500km and very reliable. Needs tires now although I've never had a flat on the stock ones. Did regular maintenance with oil and filters, grease fittings and air filter but so far only had to replace 1 battery. Very reliable in terms of just being able to push the starter and go. Mine actually has front diff lock and a winch. Only use diff lock pulling out my seadoo from the pond or stuck in snow.

Awesome. I've been a long time Yamaha rider (more than 40 years now) and always found them to be reliable. I've owned Honda products as well with similar success. I do wish it had the diff lock...may never need it but it's always nice to have but we will make do. This is the wife's ride and she's a timid rider so I can't see her going anywhere that it would be needed. I'm on 2 wheels so I most certainly have no plans for deep mud so we should be OK. Searching for a winch now because snow is on the way here in colorado and the wife is excited about plowing our street.

That's good to hear. I have long trusted Yamaha reliability and that is why I keep buying their gear. I'm also a fan of Honda for their reliability as well. I've owned plenty of Honda bikes over the years. But the Kodiak was just so much a better fit for my wife than what we saw at the Honda dealership. So, it's always good to hear that a 20 year old quad is still on the trail. Thanks for watching.

So u said it can fit in ur truck, hong long is ur bed at closed measurement? My tacoma has a 6' (72") bed so i want to see if this yr model will fit, i dont think the 2023 new model will it is 80".

I don't know the exact measurements of the bed of my truck but it is a standard Chevy Silverado extra cab. I know the bed is approx. 6 feet and the quad fits just barely. If I leave about 2" between the front of the quad and the front of the truck bed, I can close the tailgate with a little bit of force as it hits the tires. I can then put the bike rack in the trailer hitch so I can load my bike off the back bumper. I can fit both in the back of my truck but I have to remove a foot peg on the bike and it is a really tight fit.

What are you getting for fuel consumption? What is the fuel capacity? Thanks.

It holds about 4 Gallons. It's stock motor and exhaust so it sips fuel. We can go a long time between refueling. I don't have milage range, but I can go hours plowing the streets and do that multiple days before having to put in more gas. On trails, we will get 3+ day rides in before needing to refuel.
