Today Jeff finally I just got 20 anlin Del Mar e series all installed today. I can’t say enough for all the advice information that I received from Dont fall for sleazy sales to financing to the best value window . To anyone who is on the market I recommend watch Jeff’s videos from sleazy sales and then financing especially the bull crap about 0 percent financing to the best warranty window companies. Then Jeff best product vinyl equals Anlin to aluminum equals Western System to fiberglass equals Fiberframe or infinity by Marvin. Once you find a window you want contact Jeff he might have a great installer. A bad installer equals bad window RIGHT JEFF. Maybe apply to be your general manager Jeff. Lol I’ve learned so much about this business. Thanks again Jeff.

@@HoustonWindowExperts Approximately how much does tempered glass add to a cost of a project. 16 windows, and I would say at least 8 or 9 windows would need temepered glass because they are only\ 12" off the ground.
@HoustonWindowExpertsАй бұрын
@Greg-cs7pg if a window is below 18 in from the floor surface, and exceeds nine square feet of glass, it must be tempered. I will check to make sure that the piece of glass nearest the floor exceeds nine square feet before considering tempering. Tempering the glass will add to the cost in a significant way. We can get you exact pricing on that once we have the sizes. We're looking forward to connecting with you and answering any of your questions.
@Greg-cs7pgАй бұрын
@@HoustonWindowExperts I was afraid of that. About 10 windows at 17sq ft and one at 22sq ft. :All of those windows at less then 18" from the floor. :( Guess I'll find out all the options tomorrow evening.
@HoustonWindowExpertsАй бұрын
@Greg-cs7pg remember that one specific sheet of glass must exceed in 9 square feet. I've seen windows that are much larger than that but the bottom piece of glass was under 9 ft and the top piece of glass was much larger. If you have one sheet of glass that is more than 9 square feet and it is 18 inches from the floor, then it needs to be tempered.

We just had the original 1998 aluminum frame dual pane windows replaced with Anlin Del Mar retrofit windows here in Phoenix. We really like them a lot so far. We do notice they helped a lot with those low frequency noise from the freeway nearby. The vinyl frames and glass do not feel cold to the touch in the house like the aluminum windows did. They slide open really smoothly and it feels like a new home now. The screens are hardly visible, sturdy and fit great. We may be able to actually open windows now without the fear of creatures like scorpions getting in. Glad we spent a little more to get really nice windows. Only dislikes are the slight green tint of the glass when viewed from outside and the flat vinyl frame on the outside covering the stucco seems a little wider than we would have liked. I would give then an 8.75 out of 10 rating.
@HoustonWindowExperts Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you are enjoying your windows. We don't sell that type of window in Texas that has the flat white frame around it. You must have a stucco house? There is another way that they can do it, but most companies don't bother because it takes more time. I hope you enjoy your windows for many years to come!
@fvvfvbbbb Жыл бұрын
@@HoustonWindowExperts Yes basic flat stucco walls. At least we got the windows in Adobe color so they don't standout to bad against the stucco. Wonder what the optional way to do them would have been? This seemed like a pretty easy retrofit.
@HoustonWindowExperts Жыл бұрын
It will depend on your local governing codes. In texas, we can tear out the complete frame from your existing window and replace it with a new window. What they did in your case, is they left the frame in place and just inserted a new window inside of a window. To do that, you need a wider exterior frame to cover up the old frame it used to be in the opening.

I find your videos very helpful, after watching this one, I got a quote on Del Mar E from a local company in DFW. Total 39 windows. They are asking for 53K. If some of windows changed to picture windows and slider, it would reduce number of windows to 31 and quote down to 44K. I am just curious if this is reasonable price, $1200-1400 per window. Also got a quote from Marvin and they are asking 80K so I am sticking with Vinyl windows. Thanks!!

@@HoustonWindowExperts Hmm. We just got a quote for 10 Del Mar-e windows in the DFW area for $18000 two days ago, although this does include a dark color (bronze?) on the outside, so about $1800 per window. The color added $3400 to the cost, so I assume the standard color windows would be ~$1500 per window. Our project is much smaller than yours, so that could add some cost per window. What I am saying, is our quote appears to be in the same ballpark as yours. I hope that helps.

how are Andersen windows in the high heat climates such as Las Vegas? From my understanding it is not true Fiberglass, rather they are made of Fibrex: consisting of 40% wood fibers and the remaining 60% is made from thermoplastic polymer.
@HoustonWindowExperts Жыл бұрын
That's a nice way of putting it. The other 60% is actually vinyl! Their window does just as well as any other vinyl product would do. I think you're going to be happy with any high quality window you purchase.
@michaeldiraimondo Жыл бұрын
so it's a wood / vinyl hybrid? Is it true you can only get the latest version of Fibrex if you buydirectly from Renewal by Andersen (I believe it is the 3rd and latest version)? For example, if I bought Andersen window from you Jeff, it would be an earlier version of the Fibrex and not the latest, most-up-to-date optimized Fibrex?
@HoustonWindowExperts Жыл бұрын
That's a marketing scam.
@goldy76784 ай бұрын
Renewal by Anderson is easily double the price of everyone else and their sales tactics of ..."the deal is only good today..." is lame. They quoted me a price after discounts of $106,000 and wanted a decision right then. My decision was to show them the door.

Hi Jeff, are vinyl windows off gassing safe to breathe? Should I be concerned?

Offgassing is not a big issue, as the offgassing experienced with vinyl windows is mostly due to the paints and finishes applied to the vinyl and not the vinyl itself.

I like this review. However, Anlin only resells through limited window resellers. This means the smaller shops can control the pricing, unlike buying windows at Home Depot & Lowe's where pricing tends to be much better and you still get big brands like Pella, Anderson, and so on....So my only gripe is, where I live (Sacramento) you have to use a company that specializes in Home remodel products (i.e. Gutters, Windows, Roofing, HVAC, Plumbing, etc) ....>And I know that Geoff from Houston Window Experts has repeatedly said, never do business with a jack of all trades because window installing should be all they do and get it right the first time. Great product, bad sells model to give these jack-of-all-trades power over prices.
