Thank you for this review. I just purchased Anlin windows here in California with a company called American Vision Window. Your excitement about the window and thorough review (in addition to what the window rep explained) has convinced me that I made the right decision to purchase this brand. Thank you.

Jeff, I am so glad you did this video as we have our order in process. We had Patty come out and we ordered these very windows in Slider form. Looks like we are about halfway through the manufacturing process and should be ready for your installers toward years-end. After watching, it reinforces my gut feeling that the Anlin DelMar was the right choice for us. Erin has been sending us updates which has been very helpful. Everyone we have dealt with, so far, has been terrific. Thanks again for doing this one

Hi Jeff I really enjoy your videos and I have learned a lot from them. Thank you for that. I live in the Cleveland area and entered my info into “Jeff’s List”. I thought that I would get a list of window dealers in my area but I did not. Instead I got a few dealers calling my house fairly aggressively. One of them understood when I said that I wanted to wait until I call them, the other kept pushing and pushing and was very aggressive which I didn’t like so I thought I would pass that feedback along to you.

I would like to visit with you about this. We never give your information to anyone. Instead, we send you an email with the name of one of our partners in your area and we CC them on the email. Do you think you may have completed a form somewhere else? What you are describing sounds like a lead aggregator website. We abort those sites and do not do that type of work.

@@HoustonWindowExperts Hi There, I don't think that I entered my information on any other site. It is possible that I did, but I really don't think so because I wanted to avoid what happened. I have e-mail contact from: Universal Windows Direct, Window Universe (which mentioned my entry in Jeff's List) and Sky Ridge Roof. I don't mind the e-mail contact but the phone started ringing in less than an hour after giving my info. to Jeff's List. I appreciate that you are looking into this. I hope that my response helped.

Hi Jeff, Great video! That window would definitely be on my short list if I was looking to replace and they were available locally. Great company and great window with the best IGU and spacer system on the market! And like you always say (and I could not agree more) a great window needs a great install. Don't know if you ever noticed or were curious about the smooth edge of the small laminated glass sample. That edge results from being cut on a waterjet using a very fine abrasive. Water is the carrier of the abrasive so it's almost like the edge was being sanded as it was being cut. Also if anyone was curious about a bit more on the NEAT coating... Window glass described as self or easy cleaning has a special photo-catalytic coating, primarily titanium dioxide, applied to the glass surface. This titanium dioxide coating makes the glass surface hydrophilic, meaning that it attracts water allowing it to sheet (not bead) and flow off the glass surface. Cardinal’s NEAT coating is applied to finished glass in a vacuum chamber, much like Cardinal LoE coatings are applied, resulting in a microscopically smoother and arguably better performing product than self/easy cleaning coatings applied during the float process (most other versions). By comparison to factory applied coatings, most (but not all) after-market products (such as Rain-X) are hydrophobic, meaning that they repel water resulting in water beading up on the glass surface. The little beads formed from using a hydrophobic coating will leave behind dirt and mineral deposits (spots) when the water eventually evaporates on the glass surface while a hydrophilic coating results in a surface layer of glass that’s “slippery" to water meaning it sheets off carrying the dirt along with it. In addition to being hydrophilic, the titanium dioxide coating chemically reacts with the ultraviolet rays in sunlight to oxidize organic material on the glass. This process, called photo-catalysis, breaks down dirt and other organic materials and prevents them from sticking to the glass so that a garden hose or even rain might be enough to wash the glass clean. And if the glass does need additional attention, it’s usually just a quick and easy wipe down.

Hi Jeff, thanks for all the great videos! I like that you work with many vendors, so are able to talk with experience about their different products. I recently used "Jeff's List" to find a vendor in my area. The vendor is an Anlin distributor, so was able to provide a good bit of information about them. I live close to woods/water and have lots of insects, so have some concern about the weep holes. My home is also 2 stories, so I want to stay away from having to do maintenance as well. Do you have any thoughts or alternatives to using a window with weep holes?
@HoustonWindowExperts Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and your question. I would not be concerned about the weep holes. They do not let bugs into the home. If I'm misunderstanding your question, please let me know.

Jeff can you explain the advantages of a single hung vs a sliding window in a bedroom? What do you prefer? Thanks
@HoustonWindowExperts Жыл бұрын
They are virtually identical and almost every way. The only difference is the direction of travel. There are some times where the window size can dictate which window you need in order to meet egress requirements. In that case, I would be using a sliding window to get my egress compliance.

Howdy Jeff… sorry for the continuing questions…I received a bid for the Anlin Del Mar series today. It is for 17 windows of various sizes and 2 sliding glass doors. 5 of the windows will be painted black on the outside and all will have the Sunshield protection added. The cash quote was $26,950. I asked all of the questions from your videos and all were answered appropriately😊the salesman said the Catalina series would only save me $1k. I feel like this is a reasonable quote. I would really appreciate your feedback!

OMG… the information/decisions are overwhelming! I’ve had three different quotes and three different install techniques😳 my local people (Anlin Catalina) want to replace the entire slider door frame and flashing and maybe some other stuff I can’t exactly remember. They will put the windows in so tight there won’t be any room for spray foam insulation. Renewable by Anderson will do their Precision Cut install and replace the slider door frame but not the flashing etc. They will cut out the current windows and leave a bit of the outside frame and caulk and spray foam around the windows and put a trim strip around each window to make it clean looking. Northwest (Anlin Del Mar) is not going to replace the original slider frame. And I think their window install is like Renewables. Ugh!!! Any suggestions on install techniques? Thanks😊

Hello Jeff thanks for the recommendation for anlin. I have a merchant coming to the house on Saturday. I have twenty windows 13 windows upstairs a two story house. Two patio doors. If you can would you be able to tell me approximately what each window should cost with installation. Like for example 1000 each window and add another 300 for install. That way I can have a fair price quote in my head. With your advice 5 to 8 percent of the value of my house. Thanks Jeff
