Ive been struggling a lot playing controller on my pc so its nice to see im not the only one struggling

What devs should try for controllers is a button that switches between two sensitivity modes, if you are mid range brawling you keep a twichy fast aim setting and when you zoom in on further targets, you hit a button and it slows down for picky precise shots. I wonder if it just messes up with muscle memory too much or if it is actually usable.

If you run OW through Steam client, you can do this. I use a Switch pro style controller and have gyro and right stick mapped to mouse movement. Gyro is my fine adjustment and stick is my fast movement. I'm able to main Tracer and Pharah without being a total train wreck.

That's one thing that aim assist does, though you can't really control it, it will make your sensitivity lower when looking at an enemy

What I did for better controls was create a profile on ps4 then sign into my PC which provided me with the same exact controls that I am familiar with on ps4 even while utilizing an Xbox one controller on PC! 😅 Great video!

Ive been playing Overwatch on PC with a controller for about a year (Its hard doing PC as a twitchy left handed person) and honestly I enjoy having to work a bit differently than mouse players do and Ive been hitting high silver with it, hoping to get higher!

I find it easier to have the enemy ping bound because that's what I'm pinging 90% of the time It can also act as other callouts depending on who I'm aiming at (ally) Sadly atm it, and the understood callouts don't appear to have attack/defend the objective/payload (anymore) 😢 I'll defo have to have a look at the controller you mentioned; lately I've been having drift issues with new controllers :( Also thank you for continuing to upload content like this; as a pc controller player since 2019 its nice to know that there's others like me, and you give me hope that I could climb one day 💙

Controller settings are so generic on overwatch it's really about just getting good without aim assist pretty much. Everyone's looking at settings videos like it's going to make them instantly good. There's no short cuts. You're either grinding controller or being bad.

Except the ow control settings make me sick 🤢 especially because I can't use DZ which would have mitigated the issue if the switch if the zones wasn't so jarring I would use it, I use linear because of this because it's slightly more bearable but still weird tbh I wish we had deadzone sliders and gyro as an option on playstation(Xbox doesn't have a gyro controller, switch has gyro and you can use steam to get gyro for many games)

my sens is a lil similar but also different, I play with 77%-100% horizontal/vertical sens.... 0-100% aim assist depending on the character.... aim smoothness is like 20-50%.. and same with aim ease in, and play on Linear ramp

I’m now forced to play controller due to tendinitis from working at a computer all day. As someone who has played both inputs for years, the fact that aim assist isn’t based on input device (like every other game) and rather playable device makes no sense. M&K players will always have the advantage. But that being said. Just gotta get good with controller but that lack of help makes no sense

I've watched your streams and videos extensively. I find it hard to believe you jump with (a) while moving/aiming with your left joystick. It's virtually impossible to rely on this. Meaning you must remove your thumb to jump and then bring it back to aim. When I watch you, it's at the same time in battle moments. Can you please make a video of you using the controller in the game and camera on your hands? It would help me understand. Big fan! If true.

I actually use (a) button to jump. I just have extremely good muscle memory and dexterity to hit the buttons I need to really fast.

overwatch is similar to fortnite with no aim assist. Realistically if u cant hit shots on controller, just lower sens, ur likely not going to be turning alot and its more important to hit your shots than to be doing constant 360s crosshair placement is pretty important

It's nothing like Fortnite at all Fortnite has a fair amount of aim assist even after being nerfed a few times the games are completely different

Don't forget to aim strafe too, you can use your movement for small adjustements or to help your crossair reach the target faster, it's useful when your target is strafing left and right trying to dodge your shots, you can keep your crossair kinda still and wait for them to walk inside it while you try to match their movement once you can predict it. Don't get headshot though.

With the wolverine ultimate it has the option to switch out for higher sticks (essentially what a control freak does). Do you use the higher stick? Or controlfreaks?

It does have the option and come with higher sticks. I personally use the shorter sticks. And no, I do not use controlfreaks

Phara is an instant rebind, to like left trigger. Lucio is an hard decision since you need to have so many abilities ready (maybe amplify?). Genji is rough too, i put it on left thumb stick.

Aim assist is needed period I can't believe they messed up the main thing which is controllers when you got keyboard and mouse that's basically aim assist and is also cheating the way I see it the problem when you don't have aim assist you can't properly aim unlike mouse you aim and click

The problem with cross play for console players is that with aim assist turned off it effectively makes your sens faster do to the lack of resistance which basically means you're technically playing with a different sens than your used to in PC lobbies and that can be quite jarring especially someone has tested and has found that PC and Console OW have different deadzones and due to the lack of sliders we can really fix that issue on our own

yeah but let´s be honest, Ow 2 it´s a game where you can play with a controller without aim assist (Rein, Genji...). If there was aim assist, imagine how quickly you gonna die when a controller player takes Cassidy or Soldier for example. It would kill the game

Is there anyway you can give me a tip on how to actually use a wired controller on Overwatch 2 on PC. I am using a Xbox Series X controller wired but when I try to use it the controller interacts like it is a keyboard / controller. So if I press a it pulls up my chat as like I am pressing enter. @@JoystickOW Got it figured out finally. I had to go into steam and uncheck all controller options for it to work right on Overwatch 2. Thank you for trying to help but maybe if anyone else experiences this problem you can let them know or maybe put together a short video on it 🤷🏼‍♂️. Anyway yeah just make sure Xbox controller support ( or controller support in general ) is off in steam.
