Consider that the other simians didn't have Winston in the best regards. They respected his life because he was one of them, but they leave him alone because they hated his guts. Now, what would happen if Winston asked any help to Hammons (or Hypatia, for that matter) and they answered? Nothing good, i gather... That said, Winston escaped the colony because he liked humans better and because he didn't have a home in the colony. Hammond? He wanted some adventures. The colony was too small for him. The original plan was he was going to be with Winston. He doesn't hate him THAT much but, in the end, he reached Junkertown where... well, he gained some attitude XD

It’s probably because when talking to Winston, He doesn’t need to translate what he’s saying, it was officially stated that Winston already can understand what he’s saying since both are animals. I think the mech is more or less translating for US as players and they wanted to make it seem that way by having it more direct from Hammonds perspective rather than the mech. Also, the mech doesn’t have AI nor is a omnic, it isn’t sentient at least it wasn’t in OW 1, maybe the new team forgot or plans to change a few things later on…

I love the requests that the Junker Queen makes for Hammond to make some complex stuff, with Hammond responding with "Fine, but give me a challenge next time."

Some of the requests would be eazy. A suit of armor that screams her name can be made by just making a regular suit of armor, and taping a boombox to the back that screams her name every few seconds. Omnics exist, and orisa also has a centaur like chassis, so taking inspiration from that and modifying some omnic's code he can make a gaurd dog that actually acts like a dog. And that triple-grenade launcher could be made like ronin's bullet wall shotgun from titanfall 2, but modified to shoot grenades. The difficult part of that one is figuring out what she ment by "paint glitter and nails", cause either she ment using it to make the launcher look better, or as a seperate type of grenade with a large aoe and a calling card.

It is, but I still got the headcanon that Reaper somehow intimidated the WB AI leading to it distancing itself from Hammonds antagonising response by referring to Hammond as "mammal" in a degrading way, rather than he, him or hamster, trying to get on Reapers good side. I like how Hammond has this temperament of a standard COD streamer, where most of the time he just makes these snarky comments and clever insults, yet still has this very quick fuse whenever angered. It's a neat combination of him being a troublesome hamster, a genius in mech design, and a resident of junkertown
