Just sayning, in grandmaster zen winrate is 55% and lifeweavers is 48% dont tell me healing is how you win. Its called support because you have to support your dps by carrying them with damage. @@Sazz.. I think the point is not “not” healing, but more to tone down the amount of healing done. After a certain healing threshold, you’re just losing value if you keep doing it. During a fight, if you’re trying to keep everyone at full HP, you’re losing value. On paper, if a support duo played perfectly, their whole team should be alive after a fight, but only at 1 HP. The rest of the time should be spent doing damage, taking angles or wtv is the most useful for your team at that point

Ima be honest, most support/healer players do more than their dps. Healers are practically unkillable if they play right. We seriously gotta stop playing the blame game. All DPS mains ever do is blame the tank or healer/support. Also about the voice chat comment, the reason most people dont go in anymore at least in my experience is because OVW2 is a dying and toxic mess of a game where you flame your teammates.

Video idea: normal 5 v 5 but on Jay3's team his 'healers' can only use abilities that heal their team or themselves. For example let's say Jay's team consists of Ana and Kiriko, then by these rules they can not use any abilities that don't immediately heal. Ana's sleep dart would be locked because it only sleeps the enemy, and Kiriko's Suzu, Swift Step, Kitsune Rush and kunai attacks would all be locked and she could only use the cards to heal people. The other team is free to use all other abilities freely and well see how well Jay and his 'healers' stack up against actual supports

I'm a support player and Jay is right, support's primary role is to heal and use cooldowns to keep the team alive. Obviously you should also do damage given the strength of most support's kit, but if you're letting a teammate die so that you can DPS you're trolling. It's on you to both keep your team alive and develop the skill to also contribute offensively simultaneously.

Supports have to balance healing and damage to be played to max efficiency. Realistically, sometimes we have to do damage because the other members of the team are getting shredded even through our heals and our added damage forces the enemy team to back up. Most of the time we have to do damage to defend ourselves from flankers, especially since you can’t rely on DPS and tank to peel, and sometimes we do damage because our DPS can’t shoot down a Pharah. Also, in the ball clip, the Ana was already healing him so what you’re saying doesn’t add up. Not only that, but even if the Ana landed the sleep and no one followed up on the kill because the ball left, that high mobility Echo is just going to chase that low mobility Ana, now without her cooldowns, for the same kill she was going for on the point. Also, stop trying to blame the Moira. At the end of the day as tank, you already know your supports are behind you and if you move past a wall, you’re LOSing them. It’s not the Moira’s fault her tank was too stupid to understand that to be healed, she needs to be visible.

yeah 10 minutes into a masters game and I see a zen outheal my ana by 7k healing but it's my fault for asking for heals lol I don't like it people play mercy because she's not versatile but I would take a mercy onetrick over any other support player because at least the mercy one trick will actually fucking heal me when I need it. Yes you're not supposed to 'healbot' but you're also not supposed to fucking dps either, hell the only way I get healing nowadays is using the fucking passive because god forbid I ask the healers to do their job but if I don't break a reinshield in one-tenth of a second I'm the most dogshit dps in the history of the game. Because yes, they shouldn't be trying to do damage before healing, but they also have other things like anti, sleep, speedboost, window, lifegrip, petal, discord, shield, and suzu that SUPPORTS the team, not just healing them. thats why they're not called healers, its because healing is not the only thing they can do to SUPPORT the team.

I didn't say "the only support that should be attacking," I suppose you could make the argument that zen should focus on attacking, but those orbs either detach or go to the wrong target insanely often. And in regards to lucio, his damage is only really good if you can consistently headshot(which, let's be real, most OW players can't even intentionally hit headshots 90% of the time). Mercy's little pellet gun should be a last resort when she's alone. Lifeweaver has good burst healing, positioning tools, and shit damage. Ana is better at healing her team and disrupting the other team's CDs and healing than doing dps. Kiriko has really good burst healing and WAY overtuned headshots(and let's not even talk about how OP Suzu is and how people have NO CLUE how to actually use it half the time). Baptiste has overtuned damage, great burst heals, and FUCKING IMMORTALITY. And last but not least, moira's annoying ass exists in some stupid state of flux where the person playing either dives and gets themselves killed, dives and picks off the people who her team is chasing or nearly killed, or plays like a normal fucking person and keeps her team alive. You know how tanks are supposed to absorb damage so the rest of their team can survive? Some tanks(mainly rein and diva) dont have the insane sustain that tanks like hog, ball, or sigma have, and need heals in order to tank damage for their team. Rein shield doesn't last forever, and neither does the defense matrix. If you genuinely think that supports should be focused on trying to get picks and do the DPS job, you are actively hurting the game and making it worse. Im not saying supports shouldn't be able to get kills, and Im not saying they shouldn't attack, it just shouldnt be what they're FOCUSED on.

With lucio you should be healing when your team needs it, otherwise speeding for avoidance and positioning, while shooting at the enemy team trying to hit headshots. If you're on Zen, you should get your orbs on the priority targets(both your team and enemy team) and otherwise using your normal and charge shots to try to get picks. In both cases, shooting should be secondary to keeping your team up, boosting their damage/speed, or messing with the diving enemy's CDs with discord orb/boop. Try reading the full thing next time.

Jay that last one, was kinda on the moira. The moira was sitting on high ground, as a limited range character, but thats not even the point. The zarya walked backwards to where the moira was. Zarya doesnt have movement tech. Instead of following the zarya the moira should have either been closer or went to where the zarya was going. I think thats more of an unfortunate thing that the moira literally played ring around the high ground with zarya when the moira has the movement ability

We can put the healers that don’t just heal dump (Lucio, zen , etc) but have more support related kits (again lucio zen etc) as well as dps and tanks that don’t really fit the roles and change some kits around a bit. give sym her shield generator along with teleport but nerf her damage a lot cause she not a dps but she’s a support which is not meant to deal damage but to HELP the dps deal damage or just be annoying, add sombra to support and change nothing but nerf her damage a lot, add torb in it and bring back scrap and have him give out small armor packs again, add junk rat and change nothing, add junker queen but just nerf her health from whatever it is to like 375 maybe alittle more, do the same to mauga and a damage nerf maybe but still self heal enough to be useful, add hog no kit change just a lot less heath, basically all the non shield tanks go in support with health nerf so it’s not a second tank or add some dps with kit changes and damage nerfs and the non heal bot healer like zen and Lucio. Idk I thought it would be interesting. oh and change all the Heal bot healers to the role of “healers”. Jay probably won’t see this but oh well

I played helaer and only healed. I had like 200 dmg on lifeweaver and still my tank said it was my fault that we lost :DDDDD

Anyone saying they are supports not healers, you're right, but they support their team by healing and utility, not by doing being the 3rd dps. Healing is going to help your team far more than damaging others once you get out of low ranks and people have brains. Of course the biggest problem is the fact that Blizzard made supports have the same, if not more damage than dps heroes, tricking people into focusing more on damage than healing. As a League of Legends player, I have no clue why supports have the same damage as dps while being able to heal themselves and others and cc people. Personally I think League's role balance is perfect, even if the individual champ balance is terrible, Blizzard should take notes, it's one of the most successful computer games for a reason. Tanks should more hp, but do slightly less damage, supports should have more healing/supporting options, but deal literally 0 damage, and dps can stay the same. Not every support is a problem, but like half are. The only ones with good damage balance are Brig, Lifeweaver, Lucio, Mercy, and Zenyatta(only because his healing is very low). The rest are op, some more than others ofc *cough cough* Illari and Kiriko. And yes, I think ana has too much damage, mainly just because of bio nade though, her basic attack isn't bad. No more ranting, so, in conclusion, Support's main focus should be healing, buffing, and cc'ing people. You can do damage, but only when there is no one really left to heal, finishing off a 1hp target, or in self-defense, just don't be the backline dps Moira player. And as a dps player, healing your tank is important but please look around and heal your dps too, don't tunnel vision. You healing 1k hp to tank won't get any value if your dps are getting poked out of a fight and having to find a pad waiting for self heal because you refuse to heal anyone else. If your tank dies overextending/overpeeking, they're probably not good enough to warrant healing them over potentially the greatest dps one-trick to ever exist sitting at 1hp in a corner. AND BLIZZARD PLEASE REMOVE SUZU IMMORTALITY AND REDUCE CD BY LIKE 2 SECS TO COMPENSATE!!!
