The sad thing about Widow is that She used to be a normal woman. With a normal life and a name. Her real name is Amelie Lacroix. In the years before Widowmaker became the Widow, she was actually married to Gerard Lacroix. Before his death, he was a high ranking officer in Overwatch and become the target of a group called Talon. her husband being the main target of the group Talon. They ended up going after Amelie to try and get to Gerard. In going after her they did end up taking her and ran experiments on her. They brainwashed her and let Overwatch "rescue" her. So she can kill her husband in his sleep and return

This was cool! So, here some things about the lore you saw on this videos First of all yeah, Overwatch its ilegal because in the Over world people turned kinda racist about the powers and super abilities things, they thought powers were more harmfull than helpfull so they banned them. Second that "Zennyata" you see in Widow animation isnt really Zen, hes an "Omnic". So Omnics are supposed to be machines with human thoughts and lives, they live as humans, think as humans, dream and all that things that machines arent supposed to do. The Omnic you see is working as a famous politician who is defending the rights of the omnics as if they were humans. Overwatch has a very nice set of animations, i think it would very interesting if you could watch them all! Just make sure of watching " Zero Hour " the last, because it is final animation in the lore and it wouldnt make much sense if you react to it earlier. I think you should Watch "Dragons", "Hero", "Reunion", and "Glory" (These are my favourites of the bunch, but every animation is pretty cool)

Very nice reaction~! I do hope you eventually come back to the OW cinematics at some point, as they really are high quality and worth the watch… I’d stick to the playlist as well. While each is an individual story, the newer ones assume you know things about the older ones and make references to things that happened before… it’s not necessary to have seen them, but there’s even more to appreciate in them if you watch them in the intended order. As for background, two things… as others pointed out, the Omnic peace activist that got assassinated was actually a character named Mondatta who is Zenyatta’s mentor. You do see Zen in that cinematic… the Omnic with three forehead dots who is with Mondatta backstage before the speech. Fun trivia: both of these characters are named after the the third album from the famous band The Police. Someone else said that the Overwatch organization was shut down because of some “racism” against super-powered beings, which I don’t think is really the case. The analogy to racism in the world of Overwatch is really centered on the Omnics, which they will feature in one of the next cinematics. As you saw in the cinematic trailer, Overwatch was formed to bring an end to the war between humans and Omnics which they did successfully… but as with any government organization that fulfills its purpose and then continues to operate, they sort of lost their focus. Over time, they started getting accused of corruption and overreach… and internally, there was a power struggle between their two main leaders Morrison (who you saw in statue form in the cinematic trailer and will see in one of the next cinematics) and Reyes (who you’ve already seen a couple of times 😉) which eventually led to the destruction of the Overwatch HQ and the UN stepping in to shut down Overwatch with that Petras Act. Hope that clears up a few things, and also hope to see you react to more OW content soon~!
