Hi!, I'm the player featured in this video( CakeForCat) and firstly I want to say I'm really grateful for this Overanalized video, Thanks Sty! I've been needing a proper review of my gameplay for a long time, because I knew I make a lot of mistakes but I'm aware of them but still don't know exactly what are they. After watching this I'm gonna start to work on my Ult usage and positioning a lot more. I wanted to send you a video for a long time but i wanted it to be attractive for your series (new D.va gameplay) and also a culmination of most of my bad behavior. I agree with your review a lot, you made a lot of constructive criticism but I want to clarify one play I think you interpreted the wrong way. The first bomb I used (the YOLO bomb :D), I was actually aiming to hit the place where most people hide when they see a D.va ult incoming. It was something like the reverse psychology bomb from reddit, but you were right, I got kinda lucky. I just wanted to say that bomb had a little more meaning to it than you thought, but don't get me wrong, I agree on everything you said there, It was one of those bad games you play from time to time. I'm not saying that in other games I'm 100% better but that I don't make so many mistakes usually. Anyway thanks for the video, I'm gonna try to get better thanks to you. I hope other people can learn from this Overanalized too.

Fair play to you for sending in the video, best of luck improving. Just to echo Sty's point, you have to bear in mind that D.Va gets her ult insanely fast now (almost Tracer fast) so launch that shit every chance you get. If you watch the video back, the enemy D.Va got off at least three bombs while you held on to yours. Don't be afraid to just use it as a zoning or re-meching tool.

Simian 1975 That's a bit of an over statement. It's faster charging now but not by to much though it's faster more consistently. I can get mine in about 1:10 I got the ult on the old one at around 1:30. (I would say the play on those at the time are at a really high level) A decent tracer can get hers at around 30secs.

Oh my lordy lord here we go 1.Spam, just SPAM them missiles, if a fight is not going there is no point in holding the missiles, and matrix × missiles means free ult charge for you, and none for them 1.DUNK DUNK DUNK EVERYBODY, just dunk them all!!! just bloody dunk them! If you dive on someone he's DEAD INSTANTLY, you can even burn thru Mercy healing with that huge burst of dmg from the boop x the cannon fire x the missiles x the melee at the end. You did this like once or twice, BUT DO IT MORE 3.Get your target priority dialed in...There is nothing more scary in the world than a huge mech charging at you when you are playing Mercy, you have not touched that Mercy ONCE the whole game, look at the amount of rez's she got, JUST DUNK HER! You can shoot her out of the sky with the new D.Va even when ulting. All you fire at the whole game is barriers and huge HP targets like a molten core Torb?..YOU HAVE SHOTGUNS, YOU DO NO DAMAGE TO A MOLTEN CORE ARMORED TORBJORN!!!! 4.Your D.Va 1v1 is horrific, she always eats your missiles and you never eat her's. Eat the bloody missiles!!! 5.NEVER EVER try to sustain a main tank role as D.Va, you have little to no protection, you charging at that Reinhardt with the whole team behind him is completelly pointless, you just feed. 6.Talk! You habe not said a word the whole game dude! That combo with Zarya was just pure luck! TALK TO HER, THAT COMBO WITH ZARYA IS INSANE, just make sure to chuck the bomb behind them so Rein has to expose his team to your team's fire! EASY WIN! NO SOMBRA NEEDED! 7.If you are out of a major fight it never hurts to just look at the killfeed and tell your team to pull the heck out cuz it's lost, PLEASE 8.FOLLOW THE MAIN TANK or PEEL FOR SUPPORTS! In this you do none of that, you simply go around willy nilly shooting at whatever and protecting whatever, either play agressive with the tank or defensive with the supports. The bomb at 8:00 was fine, he had an idea of where the enemy team was, his team was pushing in and he only had 50 health so he could either get kills, force the enemy team out of cover and heal up without pulling the healers away from supporting the rest of the team in the engagement. I don't think you ever want to call for healing there because it's better to either bomb or just Boost and get a mega yourself. The only real mistake I see is that he just stood there to see what the bomb would do instead of rejoing his team or running to the right to flank. The bomb at 9:23 was bad, he had ~300 health and could've waited until he reached 0 health to activate the bomb on the point and got more DPS in with the cannons and rockets in the mean time. The bomb is NOT just a zoning ultimate, it's a sustaining ultimate that's often necessary to keep D.va Mecha on the battlefield similar to Winston's Primal Rage or Doomfist's Meteor Strike. People need to stop looking at the ultimate now as they did then, because D.va Mecha itself is so much more impactful that just the 8 second Booster, Micro Missiles, Shoot, Ram, Melee combo is what is going to clear points for you. At 14:00 and 17:00 you are correct, he should've ulted both times to stay in mech and he cost himself another ult in charge by waiting too long to use it.

6:12 What are YOU doing with baby D.va? She is literally in most situations, in my intense D.va main experience, can be used to A)shoot into choke doing massive damage, which happens a lot. B)Used to distract the enemy team long enough that even when you're dead the enemy can barely cap before the rest of the team gets there. And finally C) Used to poke at the enemy team like a Tracer until you can run away and get the mech back. Baby D.Va doesn't become fragile unless you make her.

That first bomb was actually pretty logical though -getting a new mech before going into he team fight since he was low. -ulting the point when the team is pushing the point is not a bad idea to clear off the point. -the enemy team had stationary heros that generally stay on point (bastion and torb) so they would likely be on point.

8:00 I am a DVa main with 120 hrs and that was a great bomb tbh, spot was good, timing was good, zarya was dead so no way of shielding that, so imo that bomb was a medium risk high reward move that is completely fine. I would have been more harsh commenting his DM use, which is honestly garbage (for example when the Tracer sticked the bomb on him). If he improves matrix and positioning he is easily a diamond.

Sty, coming from living with a Junkrat main I can give some insight on why the Rein changed to JR. My husband has been on tanks, and said okay no one is taking care of Bastion or he has a thousand and one shields infront of him and he switches to chuck balls to keep him down. I have done that as well. I think that is why people do that, also if you do it enough sometimes it will deter the Bastion enough to force him to change if he has enough counters on the other side.

Bastion actually counters very little in the game and has more counters (including D.Va) himself than basically anyone else. Winston is one of the only characters he does actually completely destroy. I would be so mad if a Winston on my team kept trying to dive an enemy Bastion.

@ 14:58 he gets the Mercy down to half HP and with micro missiles available switches targets to Hog - one more second on her and you would have melted her, don't keep switching targets like this and give people a chance to run away and heal, as D.Va you should be using your burst damage to confirm kills. Another thing I noticed is a lot of the time it's just not necessary to boost into a fight - better to save your boosters to be able to escape or boop/chase down fleeing targets to finish them off.

DVA's team actually used all 6 of their ults in that second to the last team fight. Reaper used his at 2:12 shortly after DVA and you can see Mercy flying around like a moth shortly after. The platinum experience.

Sty just my opinion, but I think the first D.va bomb was smart, because he instantly gets a new mech. Sometimes it's hard to get healing even if you are calling for it. He missed the lucio ult and (making assumption here) his teammates hyper focused on getting kills, with the lucio and mercy supporting them, not bothering to turn around at that rank.

sty, sombra actually works great in platinum. As a support she isnt as good, shes great to heal up tanks although you kinda need to tell your team to use the healthpacks. But as a backline assasin, she's great

Mid-plat player here. If you ever ask your team to group up after a teammate gets picked or something, most of them will go back and hide, except for that one mcree who tries to snipe the widow from the other end of the map, he'll die, stagger and then everyone else will start doing it too.

I think tracers pulse bomb doesnt do full damage if you are boosting when it goes off. I havent confirmed it with testing. But general game play when i boost away when im stuck vs when i used to try and tank it.

4:08 Omfg this is what you have to deal with at high and mid plat. Trickling, most of my damn losses are because people keep trickling in even when we’ve lost both supports they seem to think they can take a 4v6, like hello Healing vs no healing? Then the team has to wait for the tricklers that died on top of the fact that they gave free ulti charge. It’s pretty much throwing the game doing that. Despite me saying “don’t go in we have lost a support” 3 - 5 times people still don’t listen. I wanna end myself when I see the DEFEAT screen, I’m like how are you plat? Regardless of whether or not Sombra used her EMP at 22:10, that D.Va bomb would've still finished off their team, because it was far too close to Reinhardt for the shield to matter and would have killed him anyway.

Only issue I have with the advice to switch to fill a gap is well yes it's good on principle sometimes you have no one on your team who can play that hero worth a damn so swapping to that hero will do more harm than good.

5:10 Junkrat is the best pick on their team m8. Counters bastion and torb turret. The fact there is n shield makes it easier. Cuz junkrat burns shields then stationary targets behind it. The fact that there is no shield makes it easier for the junk. Especially on this map with the high ground outside point

You say Sombra is a support but when the pros use her especially recently it's usually the Tracer swapping off to Sombra and she is taking the dps spot.

Hey Sty, I hope you see this because I watch a lot. I'm a Sombra main on ps4. I think I'm pretty good, i got to diamond last season but I'm stuck in plat because of other people. I know when I'm not working, I'll usually switch to zen, or a tank, but my best dps is Sombra by far, i do a lot more with her than i can on anyone else. And I believe she's a hybrid. I always call out all my hacks, healthpacks and enemies, I'm a good player. But I'd never get on overanalyzed

Sty, I don't think the guy realized that you can use D.VA's ult even while you're getting ejected, not only while sitting in the mech. So even if it's technically already dead, you can still ult with the bomb.

I actually think the switch from Rein to Junkrat was a good move considering the opponents team comp at the time. I don't know why people think shields mean anything to bastion and the tracer was just going to harass the team from behind while Rein shield was getting decimated.

Sty the only problem i have with your sombra comment is that i was in a gold match as sombra on volskaya and it worked very well. Its mostly if you have communication and a team who communicates back it works really well

7:36 Am I the only one who doesn't think this is such a bad DVa bomb? It is still zoning, and he is at such low health, might as well use the bomb here and refresh your mech. Sure, you could tell Mercy to come over to you, but there's a chance some stray bullet catches you and you are out of mech. She was busy healing the others to the left who needed health as well. The point is being contested at this point, slightly in your favor, and the DVa bomb is quick insurance to make sure it's secured. You get your Ult charge back rather quickly anyways when pushing the next point.

Me being a D.va main it triggered me when he didn’t use d.va bomb in the first point 2 times. The enemy d.va has gotten 4 bombs while he’s been with his first one for a long time

I don't know about Master and above, but below that, Baby D.Va is far from useless. I probably get 30% of my kills as Baby D.Va. It really helps that people's aim and positioning aren't that great at lower levels, so I doubt it's true as you climb the ladder, but at lower/casual levels, Baby D.Va's gun is pretty might and she's such a tiny target. Empty a clip into an enemy tank and you get your mech back really quickly, too. It's fun!

i'm just starting pc level 36-37 and i'm a level 376 on xbox on console it's so easy to use bomb especially when you go from xbox 376 to ps4 level 2-7 but pc seems like it's people coming from console or those who have a pc and are just finding out what overwatch is.
