Dinner time question: I am on my first royal caribbean cruise in the UK and realised we are one of the very few younger people on the cruise. Is that the same in America and how do you feel being surrounded by many retirees/pensioners on a cruise?

Royal Caribbean in the US is more families. I think it has a lot to do with the destination. The retiree/older demographic here is more on cruise lines like Holland America or maybe Princess?

I don't think you can really consider Amber Cove a private island, and compare it to the others. It's just a beach port at Dominican Republic.

I am reaching out to you guys not that you would know the answer, but you’re on a platform and you love royal Caribbean I am due to set sale on October 5 on the icon of the seas. The only information we got was last Monday, September 23 that we would be expecting to sail on our October 5 cruise but this was they sent us About Your Upcoming Travels space Dear Guest, As you may have heard, we are currently conducting unplanned maintenance onboard Icon of the Seas. These repairs are underway, and we are confident they will be completed in time to resume normal itineraries by our October 5, 2024, sailing. At this time, our sailing will proceed as planned. As we get closer, we’ll provide you with updates on our progress. As you notice on what they sent us, they said they would provide us updates in progress and they have not done that at all. We have not received a single word other than that email. We literally have no idea 2 to 3 days if we are getting on our cruise 🚢 it’s crazy. Would love to know you guys’s thoughts.

our guess is that it will happen! if we were you, we would probably keep carrying on that it will be happening, and continue to pack, and get ready to head to miami. worst case scenario is you will get a refund and that amazing future cruise credit offer they gave the sailing that was canceled. we’ll keep our fingers crossed for you! That “theatre” they have on this ship is Really underwhelming! It’s literally the size and has the looks of a High School auditorium! So very inferior to the very nice, Broadway-caliber theatres you’d find on Disney and especially Royal Caribbean (a lot of the ones on NCL are similarly underwhelming)
