This is a "Live" performance done back 55 years ago in 1965. Composer's Alex North's (1910-1991) "Unchained Melody" never sounded so good then when the late great Bobby Hatfield (1940-2003) of the "Righteous Brothers" sung this with the beautiful instrumental arrangement of the "Andy Williams Orchestra." The string section of the orchestra is to die for. This performance alone has solidify Bobby Hatfield as one of music's greatest "Tenors" of all times. Rest in peace Bobby Hatfield. For you left us a great legacy of songs generations will come to enjoy and marvel...

This song was sung in 1965, in the middle of the Vietnam war. Men left home to fight and were away for years. The lines "And time can do so much" and "I'll be coming home, wait for me, wait for me." takes a different a different tone when you think about this song, at that time, in that context. (P.S.
