When someone auditions it means they’re looking for a job at whatever they’re good at. It’s like going for a job interview. If I acted the way Owen did on his first audition showing up one of the judges and arguing with them, of course I’m not going to get the job no matter how good I was. Did you guys noticed how he apologized? He knew he made a mistake the first time around. I like the guy and yes, he’s very good with the guitar and vocals, but there’s no need for cockiness and he showed it this time around. Good for him 👍

@kiranchamling209 жыл бұрын
+PacificRimNZ I think the opposite, The guy returned just because he realised his mistake, Judges did a great job, he needed to be realised that he was being super duper overly confident. That might be one reason he couldn't make it through all those years. Judges had to chose the one who can represent Australia with a great talent and equally great personality.
@TomRNZ9 жыл бұрын
kiranchamling20 I couldn't disagree more. I don't even understand what he did wrong. The judges hated him from the moment that he accidentally got one of their names wrong. Honest mistake. Then he made a joke that fell flat. So what? He was just trying to have a bit of fun with the judges and the audience. The only time he acted like a bit of a dick was in retaliation to the judges being dicks. For example, his, "my aim isn't to be in a boy band, chief" was obviously a dig at one of the judges, but it was also obviously in retaliation to the judges' attitudes towards him.
@TheArchitect3169 жыл бұрын
+PacificRimNZ guaranteed that they got so much shit for not letting him thru the first time they were forced to let him come back. Because I have never seen a performer able to return the very next week to try again. These are a one time shot. The producers of the show threatened them is my guess...and rightly so. The judges acted like babies the first performance and were in the wrong. I have also had to perform in front of people...if you sing for the judges instead of the audience then you suck every single time. They were seriously butt hurt about him caring more about the performance than their opinions. But to me, that's what an actual performer SHOULD care about.

I think the fact that he had to audition twice shows that the judges on these shows are blinded by their own egos. It's in their job description to find talent, not inhibit it every time their pride gets hurt. This guy's a class of his own. I'm about a year late to this discussion though haha

So he fumbles one of the judges' names a little, and quickly corrects himself, yet Brian make some cocky, disrespectful remark and pushes his buzzer. Then when Owen is understandably a little miffed and makes a point of performing to the audience instead of the people that just ridiculed him, that's a bad thing? He should have been the one receiving the apology. They only called him back because they realised how much of a travesty it would be to lose someone so talented.
@christopherdiedrich405 жыл бұрын

This is how the so-called "judges" met success: Danni - Boob job, naked picture in Playboy or something Brian - Boy-band Kyle - Controversy on a D-rate talk show. The 3 individuals sitting comfortably behind a light-bright-box don't have any real talent. I doubt any of them could replicate Owen's performance, even for the first 5 seconds when his shot glass graces the strings of his guitar. They have no right to judge real talent, and it angers me to see genuinely talented, hardworking people like Owen Campbell being put down. True musicians who remember what it is like to connect with the instrument and the melody and rhythm...

As twatty as they all are,there's no need to be an arsehole yourself - Dannii found fame as an actress. BUT she's a fucking terrible singer.

This shit that cracks me up about this is that I had to google exactly what made Brian McFadden famous and to quote Wikipedia "Brian Nicholas McFadden (born 12 April 1980) is an Irish singer-songwriter and TV presenter who rose to fame in 1998 as a member of the Irish boyband Westlife..." which then lead me to the Vevo videos of Westlife. I got 5 seconds through the first video (If I Let you Go, a song that required three people - McFadden not being one of them - to write) featuring generic chords, airy typical boyband lyrics and almost every stereotype defining the genres (slomo' horseriding included) and laughed. After his first stint on the show I devoured every song and piece of music Owen Campbell has made (and written) as an original and outstanding musician.
@KentWalpool10 жыл бұрын
We will be opening for Owen Campbell here in the USA and we can't wait to meet him. This is raw talent with a gift to captivate his audience and not come off pretentious like the Australian Judges on "We wouldn't Know talent if it played right in front of us".
