45 fucking likes. 10 fucking comments. Unbelievable. Rick Rubin is a mythical character in my life, my unfulfilled artistic dreams and my never ending belief that I will fullfil them eventually. Owen Wilson is an actor that I have studied in the same way that I have studied musicians like Trent Reznor. Owen is someone who does the thing that I would want to do. I'm 37, I sent this video to my mom, we've cared a lot about movies that he's been in, mainly because of him, by a lot. This Tetragramaton thing is so incredible, I want it be as successful as you want it to be but the fact that it somehow feels like a secret is infuriating as fuck but I also love that I get to chill in this tree fort and maybe you guys will actualy read what I say. I just live that this doesnt feel like social media when I'm here.

I remember seeing Bottle Rocket in my friend’s basement 25 years ago and feeling like I was stepping into another world. Been a fan of Owen’s (and Wes Anderson’s) ever since. Interestingly, this is the first long form interview of Owen that’s made it on to my radar…and it made me like and respect him even more. A massive thank you to Rick Rubin for this super interesting conversation. What a treat

Bottlerocket hit me so perfectly years ago. “How does an a**hole like Bob get such a great kitchen?” Amazing

Amazing how these two old friends can sit and converse in a stream of memories and random thoughts for an hour and a half. Thanks guys.

I've given this some thought. My guess is, with big profile celebrities, such as Owen Wilson, they feel more relaxed and open for a conversation rather than with the usual camera running in front of them.

@@DBRX5 definitely agree, also somehow I feel like it’s more real just listening to the audio. It seems like history, I’m not sure how to explain it.

I enjoy this so much, when you guys talked about miss judgment on a person, I remember I had this art teacher when I was in college she was so snobby and honestly got on my nerves but one day I was waiting for a ride and her and I got to talking and she end up being the best teacher I had, I was like oh she didn’t know much probably just here for a paycheck, but she was really awesome, and honestly glad we got to know one another, sometimes people do misjudge people but then at times if they turn out to be awesome people it’s like glad I was so wrong about this person 😂 but thanks for this awesome podcast.
