Owl City, Your songs actually help me live trough the days. We are a poor family, I spend all my money to help others just to see them smile which brings me something positive in life for once. I have a girlfriend who stays with me even if I have nothing to give. She says my heart is the best gift I could ever give her since I always care about others instead of myself, so I sing your songs to her if she feels sad to make her smile again. She gave me a phone, clothes and buys me food, I could never pay her back... She mentioned when you have to live on the streets, charge your phone every day at a public place, once your credit runs out I will make sure you have enough to be able to stay in touch every month, she will visit me outside to bring me food. I want to thank you for the songs that helps me day by day to stay positive and not give up on life, I always hope better days will come :)

So, he wrote about the most basic thing which is having a "Good Time" with friends but with a wholesome vibe. And he made it with Carly Rae Jepsen too, who boomed in the industry in that time. So, I'd say that's not his usual type of music, but it is a product of the time.

+Pig Hanny I think it's more on Adam...he could really push to show up on award shows, act/preform in movies(not aimed at children), preform in award shows, be a guest on talk shows, tv shows, be the promo speaker for some product (the Oreo commercial doesn't count. A commercial where he shows his face and tries to sell you a product), his songs could be in commercials, tv shows, he could be pushing to get himself in the spotlight and earn more recognition...but I don't think he wants it, which is admirable. He is too shy and too humble and he knows none of that actually matters. He has a solid following now and I think it's just want he wanted...otherwise he would change something. He said himself that when he just started out, he never thought he could ever live solely off of making /preforming his music...so I have a feeling, even if no one ever listened to it, he would still make music regardless... and just get a "normal" day job.
