I lived in Ithaca NY for 16 yrs and went to vet school at Cornell, but I was not into birds or Owls back then. Kicking myself in a big way after discovering how magnificent Owls are after so many years of being a vet.

My husband and I were taking a walk one evening just as it was getting dark., when from behind, two owls woosh over our heads, so close that we felt the breeze. This guy says they make little air disturbance. Those owls must of been very close to our heads. Of course we saw them when they got in front of us. One owl was large the other looked like a baby. What a neat experience that was. I will never forget it. That happened in Hospers Iowa.
