Mr. Harrell, you are my blessing. I am home bound with health problems, and you take me places I would never get to see. My family are the wildlife managers for our family farm, so I'm familiar with Texas wildlife, but not your swamp critters. Your videos help me cope with especially bad days... like today's wicked migraine, and they help me manage the stress of just trying to survive. You take me to calm, quiet places, and I don't dwell on the day's pain and struggles. Your videos have become a coping technique for me. I watch your videos and narrate them, ooooo! toi-key gahba gahba gahba. dumb raccoons, they are a bane of my existence in trying to feed outdoor pets. And I live in town! cute as can be on video, but !@#$% in real life. Night Raiders! So Tasty! [wild hogs]. Ohhhh Big Cat! Wow bear, what nice teeth you have, so today's dental visit was a good one! Yes, I was thinking the same thing, when you actually said it in a previous video. It's silly, I know, but if you don't laugh, you cry and crying makes things feel much worse. On a serious note, might I suggest you send a photo of the big red doe to the area Wildlife Manager/Game Wardens: she was so thin, her ribs were showing, her organ area was really sunken, and the food seems plentiful enough- even if she had finished nursing a fawn. The yearling and buck were not thin, and the doe might be ill, and could put the rest of the deer at risk. Thank you, so much for sharing your hobby. PS. thank you for the laughs. the shower cap was especially funny.

I have a much smaller and very simple wireless camera trained on my door at my office since I cannot see my door from my desk. It is connected via wifi to my iPhone. I get the very same notification when it senses motion or sound. I work in an old, old building that is reported to be haunted. I've never seen anything myself but it was very unnerving for my phone to notify me of movement in the hallway in the wee hours of the morning. I never saw anything on the camera and I quickly learned to shut the notifications off when I left work. :)

I think that raccoon at 11:00 knows you don't like him because he was waving at you! I'm also not fond of them, but we outsmarted them here! They were going through the cat door on our garage for the cat food, so we closed that door permanently. The cats now get in through a partially opened window. Raccoons can jump, but they can't jump straight up!
@woodymeristem22236 жыл бұрын
Very nice videos from that camera and I'm sure those 4G cameras are just up Techies' alleys -- but ... I just had a black bear tear the front cover off a steel security box on one of my video camera traps. One of these days I'll post those videos on my blog (forestandfield.blogspot.com/). A bear will make short work of both the antenna and the solar panel on that 4G camera. Those cameras may be just fine where there are no bears, but a raccoon might treat the antenna just as badly. Let us know how that camera fares when a bear finds it.

Not that it really matters for a trail cam, but putting a company in the loop means that someone could be looking over your shoulder (privacy erodes by a thousand subtle disclosures) -- yet I could see using text alerts on a camera mounted far from home. Ultimately, video quality and accurate triggering are the most important features in a camera (which this camera seems to do very well). Not sure about a solar cell -- it's rather conspicuous, and unless mounted high in a thin tree, vulnerable to nosy bears.
@ShrikeZone6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ken. I plan on putting this camera way out in the swamp where no humans go and I will be putting it high up enough on a tree where hopefully the bears wont notice it.

You can save the still pictures to your phone via cellular. When you get close to the camera in the field, you can connect to the camera via wifi and you can download the videos without touching the camera. You can do everything with the app via wifi from changing the camera settings to downloading the videos and pictures and then you can re-format the SD card.

Tim,, question on this new camera. Any idea how waterproof it is? You've have some cameras under water, I'm wondering if this new one would survive as well as the other cameras you've had. Second question, just for fun... Have you ever gotten a photo, where after looking at the photo you realized there was something going on in the background that wasn't obvious on first glance? like you got a photo of a turkey and then realize there was cougar hunched down close by. I seem to remember one photo where you got a bear or something drinking out of a water hole and then if you looked close you could see an alligator in the same watering hole. Something along those lines.
@ShrikeZone6 жыл бұрын
I don't think any trail camera is meant to be underwater. The Owlzer camera is heavy and it feels very solid I don't have any concerns about it being weatherproof. I only shoot videos with my trail cameras so I don't get any surprise images. I have had a bear step into a waterhole and a gator tail pop up and a panther walk up to the same waterhole and slowly walk away and then a gator head pops up.

Great video Tim. I tried in the past several 3G Trail Camera model but at the end I didn't feel confortable with this device. I work usually with video (no photo at all) and in the 3G trail camera there is an annoying "issue", a big delay because the device start recording video after sent the mail with the photo attached.
