In regard to sexuality, however, it depends on where you live. The majority of this country (primarily the south and midwest) still doesn't actually have legal protections against job discrimination (hiring, firing, workplace discrimination, etc.) In regard to one's sexual orientation. Sad, but true

Whether or not sexuality is a "protected class," really depends on where you live. If you live in the US, there are still plenty of states where you can be fired or flat out not hired because of your sexual orientation. It's not a nationwide rule. The last major thing sexual orientation wise to be made a national standard was gay marriage
