Love seeing an Si restoration! Just did all of this myself within the last year or so on my 2008. Sidenote: was surprised you weren't using a rubber mat with holes when pressure washing the carpets to keep dirt off the back. I picked a small square up from Home Depot a while ago and it works wonders - primarily for doing wheels. Think they call it an anti-fatigue mat.

My guess is they keep adding trash overtime too it and say. I'll clean it out tomorrow, I'll clean it out tomorrow, and then it just never gets done. I don't do this with car cleaning but when I see dishes I'm like maybe tomorrow maybe tomorrow and it just adds up but I eventually clean those too 😂
@nicholasskridla24752 жыл бұрын
Exactly. It isn't difficult. Example: you run through drive through. You get a bag and soda. You take the wrapper off straw and put in the bag. You throw the paper wrapper from sandwich in bag. When you get to destination you take cup and bag to garbage can. It is that easy. Stop being lazy people. Life does NOT have to be that difficult. Regardless of what you may be going through, and I have gone through some serious shit. Yet I didn't make excuses....

One tip I don't know if you use, you can use an ozone generator with the heat going in your car for about 30 min, then turn off the car and let the ozone generator run for a couple hours to remove smoker's smell and disinfect the car, cloth, and carpets.

Running your AC creates a lot of moisture in your HVAC system, it can cause problems for people with allergies and create a tremendous odor. They make disinfectant kits you can pour through your defrost grill that will kill the mold/bacteria and leave a really nice scent in its place. We started selling that service as an add on to HVAC service at my last job. Really nice for smokers. If you smoke in your car always run the HVAC on fresh air intake, not recirculate. All that smoke will get in your HVAC system and leave terrible odors when you turn on your heat/AC, but if you smoke in your car, like I do, you have probably already come to terms with the smoke smell. I have to clean the inside of my windshield weekly to keep all the smoke residue off it. My last car was a really nice Grand Am GT. The windshield had gotten so bad with smoke residue that it caused the sun to glare off it and I smashed into a parked car before I could get the visor flipped down. Smoking in your car is really bad, but the inside of your car is nothing compared to the inside of your body. Bad habit all around.

If your car looks like this, my man you need some 1 on 1 time with a psychiatrist. Same how people can call on child services if they suspect parents drop the ball. Same should be for detailers who can report such owners to some “get mental health hotline” Whoever lets their car go this bad is clearly fighting some demons.

Magic erasers with APC for plastics and the steer wheel will change ur life, takes about 1/2 time of steam or detail brush. Super-cheap, 100 on Amazon for the $25.
@StaufferGarage2 жыл бұрын
I’ll give that a shot! Thanks for the tip
@chrispyfc32 жыл бұрын
Gotta remember that magic erasers are basically fine sandpaper, and will damage leather if not careful. I’d stick to an autofiber scrub ninja for leather and most interior panels and only use the magic eraser softly as a last resort
@gjb31812 жыл бұрын
@@chrispyfc3 that is why i use them with an APC, its like wet sanding, i have never had any damage to interior plastics, ever. Its pretty safe as long as u don’t scrub like a lunatic and keep the surface somewhat wet. I will have to try your suggestion to compare the results.
