I’m happy to find someone posting new Tiburon content! I love my 07 vivid blue Tiburon SE and I hope to add more mods to it in the future. So far I’ve only bought an alpine stage 2 supercharger, but I’m definitely going to check out the mods you got on yours!

@@ReignRapid I paid around $2000 for the supercharger! It also came with a box full of extra parts that were needed for it to run properly with the v6.

I have the same car in Europe, its called a Hyundai Coupe here. Great looking car no doubt! I store mine for the winter months and drive it in the summer. It's getting a few parking dings removed at the minute. They are future classics, worth hanging onto in years to come.

I’ve had two Tiburons and I love them with a few exceptions of a few minor issues. Also If you want more power I have the v6 5 speed manual. And it’s supercharged with a spec stage three racing clutch, performance supercharger inter cooler, cold air intake, and dual borla exhaust. They make great race cars with some mods. I love how you can tell it’s an older car by looking at it but it’s still sleek and attractive. I love the all black👍👍👍

I was going to put a cold in but I don’t like the hard to reach location plus I think they’re a big loud imo so I was considering the Sri possibly instead. I was looking into the borla too 🤌🏼

The biggest issue that I have with mine is the wide turn radius trying to get in and out of tight parking requires a lot of readjusting. I agree with your assessment especially the door closing with the window down. Regardless it's a lovely car and yours looks awesome

Appreciate it🙏🏼 finally someone who understands the horrible door close noise lol the turning radius never bothered me too much but when you really need those tight parking spaces that’s when it’ll stick out. But at least while on the road where it counts I think it makes tight turns beautifully

Finally normal review on tiburon!!! I was very worried about dash plastic. And that was the one reason why i thinking to buy Prelude, not Tiburon. Buuuuut I'm re-thinking now. Only Tiby)) It's cheaper, more relaible (Am I wrote correct? Sorry, English the second language), more space in the trunk, more modern and sells better in past (that's means it easier to find parts). Now i really want this car. In our country there's 4 popular coupes for 10 000 dollars. It's Celica mk3, Mitsubishi Eclipse mk3, Hyundai tiburon, Honda Prelude. I mean asian coupes. Silvia - 25000 dollars, Supra - more 45 000 dollars, Skyline GTS coupe r32 33 34 - 35000\45000 dollars and etd.

Thats a sleek looking Hyundai! It's called Hyundai Coupe here in EU. I always liked those but the front end on yours brought it from "2005 called" to something more modern and refined. I like it as much as I like the Genesis Coupe

Yesterday I've got myself a red one from 2005 with the big supraish eyes. It's the V6, which is extremley rare and just about 66k miles. But here it's called Tuscani instead of Tiburon and it has the T on the front and rear so one might not think it's a Hyundai lol

Tuscani from what I know is more like the tuning line like the N line with Elantra and the i series. Also it must have a body kit with it. Otherwise it like the AMG without being an AMG 😅. Still I wish you a joyful riding! I also want to buy one but something more economical with lpg like the 1.6-1.8

The cars styling was done by Pininfarina which is why many say it looks like a mini ferrari. The roof header lining is easy to take off if you want to fix the sunroof rattles, it's only held up with stiff hook and loop plastic fasteners like a more solid velcro so no clips to break and once you get the pillar trims off just pulls down. you can then get busy with the felt tape isolating all the rattles. What's that circular thing on the RH of your steering wheel and is it factory? never seen one of those before.

Thanks for the tips that’s good to know, I’ve been wanting to replace my headliner and better secure my sunroof drain hoses but it seemed like it would be such a pain to do. When it comes to the rattles tho it seems like it comes from the actual frame and mechanism of the power sunroof itself then something under the headliner but I could be wrong 🤷🏼‍♀️ can’t go wrong with taking it off to check tho

@@theliltibby It does come from the frame, there are tiny screws that work loose and the plates start rattling against one another. A bit of sound deadening pad sandwiched in between them does the trick.

Awesome video, did one similar years ago. One thing is I never realized some 2008 came with rear wipers . As far as I knew they stopped the rear wipers after 2004. But I think that's just a us thing.

Oh I recognize your car you’re in the Tiburon fb groups right? And thanks! Yah I’ve realized there’s a few things that you don’t get included depending on your country. In Canada they all have rear wipers and a sunroof, and we only get black cloth and black leather as interior options. Also heated seats are standard for all GT models

@7:40 the back side of handle is a big hollow. JB Weld make metallic / epoxy hard two part epoxy paste, use to fill in the hollow makes it much stronger

They’re definitely a good package for the price 🙌🏼 I bought mine privately. If you’re buying one make sure they either have major maintenance records or get a pre purchase inspection before you buy. If possible both 😂

My advice would be if you can find one that was “lady driven” or described as their baby there’s a better chance they kept records for it and followed maintenance. I file and store every record I have even mods for both my cars

I own a 07 gt now have been her care taker about 3 years, I agree with most everything you posted But I put mine on megan lowering springs with new kyb struts the lowering springs being progressive has made it ride pretty close to stock I have a car on coilovers they are much more pronounced in bumps 😅 I want to also say I love how great care you've been giving to your shark.. beautiful ,tastefully slight modifications excellent job a+++++

Interesting, yah I had to make a quick decision on my suspension because my stock was blown and I chose coil overs but I wish I knew more about what was better. I like the BCs but they have their negatives. And thanks appreciate it 🙏🏼😄

Great daily for warm areas, but in Canada through winter is a bit tough. They handle fine but the age alone makes them ridged and rattly when ice gets under all the panels and hatch. If winter comfortably is important to you

Thanks! But I mention they are all like this coilovers or not. The coilovers only made it slightly bouncier but there was no difference in harshness. Tiburons come from factory with stiff suspension

I couldn't really hear the insides of your door rattling when you closed it with the windows down, but maybe you should pull the door card off and take a peek to make sure that no cables, cable ties or window regulator components are flopping in the breeze? That said, the doors on the Tiburon are really good, especially compared to a similarly priced 4 door sedan or even the ND Miata which felt rattly and plasticky when I was at a dealership considering buying one. And yeah, those door handles suck - when I got my '04 GT beater (it's a restoration project), the driver's side door handle was broken clean in two and had been "repaired" with a small strip of metal and some self-tapping screws to hold the pieces together. I tore up my fingers on the ends of those screws first time I tried to get out of the car, which made me immediately buy new handles. Those handles would be great candidates for turning into CAD drawings so that I could order some made out of billet aluminum..

And yah I thought about taking the door cards off and adding sound proofing and that maybe the extra stuffing would help with the junky sound but it’s just a pain to do haha

Cool vid! Over here in the UK they don't chime when the door is open though. In fact, I don't think any cars do. Must be a NA thing. And never noticed the cheap door handles, perhaps they are a different material here. I also find my sunroof doesn't rattle, but the sunshade does, unless I push it all the way back. Have you tried tightening the 4 screws that hold in the glass panel? Sick looking tib though ❤

My second thought would be the metal clips that pull the sunshade back when the sunroof slides back. Could be many things though. Btw, there's a company in the UK called fused fabrications who just 3d printed a batch of bumper inserts that make the stock bumper hana like. I think they only do limited runs at the moment but are possibly worth considering to make the bumper look better if you can't find a hana kit.

@@jottyh1676 yah I jumped in and got one of the second last sets of the batch. I’ve seen the fitment work on others but mine had a bit of issues which might be because we found out I have an aftermarket front bumper so they sit not totally flush but I can sort of fix that with a wrap overlay for now. When you get them definitely don’t slack on sanding them very well. At some point I’ll have to repaint and fix mine a bit but overall they’re great. Mistakes are just my own lol

If it’s from the US then the previous owner put them on. They only come on the car if it’s being sold in Korea and I believe possibly in Australia. They are oem badges just don’t come on the car from factory anywhere else. Nice I love the yellow ones, rare colour 👌🏼

Trying to fix the sunroof on my son's car. Where is the sunroof motor located? I took off the sunroof control panel but no motor.

Motor is towards the back between the sunroof and the hatch. You’ll have to loosen the headliner and slide the whole thing forward to get to it. If you look up “removing headliner new Tiburon forums” there will be a step by step guide

Yah v6 manual is the best option for these. If you’re learning though just watch out since they can be not user friendly and eventually wear out 3rd and 4th but it you treat it right it should be ok

Climate controls are all original nothing was changed there but the radio was replaced with a full touch double din screen. If by acceleration display you mean the gauge hood it comes off pretty easily by screws and pulling it out. That was upholstered in leather

I’m not sure about the older models but the 07-08 come with Kenwood and they’re fine for what they are, they don’t sound bad or old. The sound with the oem radio isn’t the nicest but if you upgrade to one with more customizable options of the sound levels, fade, bass, tremble and all that then it greatly improves it imo

Yah I’ll try to make a video on that sometime soon as well. Definitely get a pre purchase inspection. Check under the car for any rust. Make sure all electrical systems and features work well (lights,heating,ac, windows, sunroof) make sure they have a record of the timing belt being replaced, and if they don’t-get it replaced. Look for any wiring hanging around that would hint to DIY jobs they did themselves if so don’t buy it unless they have proof it was professionally done. Tiburons have sensitive electrical systems so if they did a shotty job it could be causing a lot of problems

Check the front subframe for rot, they can be difficult to get good ones used and new ones are expensive as is all the labour in swapping them over, if you get one coat the subframe in some anti corrsion protection and keep it protected.

Hello! I have a question this is the GK, right? Why the head light are small? When I go to auto-data the last coupe that is shown is the GK from 2001 to 2009 without any changes or facelifts

This is an FL2 from 07-08 facelift, GK was only 03-06 with the 05 & 06 also being branded as FL because that’s also a facelift but the parts and interchangeable from 03-06. 07 and 08 facelift have a lot of different shaped parts mostly the headlights and tail lights will not fit any other model. Although with modifications the 08 tail lights can be swapped into a GK, but headlights cant and you’d need to do a whole front end conversion

Also if you’re referring to my headlights as being small I just have eyelid covers over them which makes it look like a different shape but it’s an FL2 headlight

Thinking on getting a personal car for myself, wife has an SUV. Me ? Well maybe a tiburon 😅 there is just one available where i live 2003 2.7lt V6 - 6 speed for €2.5k. 194,000km. Not sure if is worth it after all these kms haha

2.5k is pretty decent. But after 200k kms a lot starts to fail from wear so there’s a solid chance you’ll be spending more than 2.5k over 4 years or so to keep it running. 03s I’m sure a lot of parts are on their way out from age alone, like rubber and gaskets, sensors. At 200k kms you’ll need a timing belt& water pump so that’s about 900$ right there. I’d make him take it down to 2k just for that alone lol and if you’re serious get a pre purchase inspection

Crazy to see how popular a tiburon is in USA in London where i lived you would never see one of these. I remember seeing one not long ago and i was like “cheap version of porsche” but after doin some research crazy how reliable everyone says they are even after 200km and now look at me admiring them 😂. I don’t know much about the euro tax is that one time cost or yearly? If it’s one time I would do it, If it’s reoccurring maybe not depending how your budget is. I think the v6 is much more fun than the 2.0 but it’s also a more complicated and costly engine & more expensive on gas on top of that tax so it comes to preference and compromise really. A manual 2.0 is still a lot of fun

@@theliltibby thx for responding so fast, is a tax you pay every year sadly, idk where are you from but here in romania taxes on engines go up exponetialy (for a 1.2-2 l L engin the tax is 10-20 eur a year, for a 2.6-2.7 is 560), now let s just see if i can find a tiburon with the v6 in good shape somewhere in my country :))

If you look it up on Google there has been a couple notable Tiburons in rallycross, I think the yellow one with “greatclips” in front and sponsored by mishimoto has won some championships

@@Sxeone mines a 4 speed auto V6. They also have a 5 speed & SE 6 speed manual V6. 4cyl is 138hp V6 is 172, 180 lb-ft torque

This is the GT with a 2.7L V6 (172hp, 181 torque) the 4cyl is 138hp. Depends on your budget and goals. If you want cheap on gas then get the 4cyl. But the V6 is more fun, better materials & better sound. If you plan to make power the 4cyl is easier to work on yourself and can handle more power if you go with a fully built turbo setup. 4cyl benefits for from a turbo. 6 benefits from a supercharger but both will cost you at least 3k in parts alone if you can find them or find someone who can build a custom turbo. If all that sounds like too much trouble-just get a V6 😅

In addition I want to do a nice sounding exhaust and coils. Just struggling to find performance parts and cosmetics. I also want the little headlight covers haha

My sun roof doesn't rattle I hope yours isn't damaged, I like clunky suspension because they keep me awake haha My door doesn't rattle your window regulator isn't loose ? I love my tiburon but the bumper and such is sad 😂

Sunroof might have some loose parts I’m working on figuring that out and replacing the panel. I’m pretty sure the door is just how it is 😂 nothings wrong with it and it’s both doors just cheaply made. Still love the car though it’s just old so I don’t mind the cheap/clunkiness, it comes with the territory lol

@@ZampateTR are you talking about the 4cyl Tiburon? They can handle a turbo but it would need to be a custom set up which I would check if you can hire someone to do before buying the car because most won’t. As for tuning It’s also difficult to find. There’s someone in the fb groups that does ECU reflashing but thats all I know. In Canada shops won’t touch it and I just gave up on performance other than bolt ons
