I'm unfamiliar with pods. It looks like they were pointed toward the bow instead of the stern. Do those things have a reverse gear or do they just pivot 180* for reverse?

The bolts are shear bolts and you have to calibrate the Volvo pods you can’t reuse the bolts anytime you pull a pod you have to change them

Yup. I dont work on boats that big but even i know not to get one lol. Too many moving parts and things to go wrong. And im sure they are super expensive

Could replace about four of those long bolts with long threaded rod, nuts and a big washer to slowly lower it out by turning the nuts. Would be slow but very controlled.

Cool technology, but those pods hanging way down off the bottom of hull is a recipe for disaster. With that size, boat I wouldn't have anything but straight shafts

Well being honest this is man is really the most important thing because you got return clients and they always say good things about you and that's worth a stack of gold bricks really. And I like the forklift attachment for the removal of them and I haven't had any major boat problems yet (thank god) and since my dad is officially retired as of last Thursday my parents are coming from Minnesota this week so my pops and I are going to go fishing on lake Michigan!

POD drives aren’t anything but big money maintenance. And that’s if nothing tragic happens. Nothing but straight inboards(no v-drives) for me

No problem with flow, but water was mistakenly shut off for a period of time. I’m assuming the HP cutoff failed. If so, I’m assuming a new one can be brazed in. A little above my pay grade. Do you know of any shops/people in the Vero Beach area? I have heard of the T valve trick, but….
