When I got married to a young Filipina 45 years ago I thought, Oh now what do I do... she doesn't' know how to cook American food. I agreed to eat Filipino cooking for a few months to see if I would like it. Still eating it 45 years later as we celebrated our anniversary last week. Much of it is so delicious that tasting it for the first time will catch you by surprise.

Rick Schwartz when you embrace their food and culture, you will never have a hard time dealing with it. Filipinos are really good in adjusting (all aspects) wherever they are!
@nancyreyes56775 жыл бұрын
I know how you feel. My Filipino husband didn't like my American style cooking so after he retired he did all the cooking for us.
@TheOriginalRick5 жыл бұрын
@@nancyreyes5677 We have pretty much shared the cooking over the decades. She got her degree in Home Economics after we were married so she is formally trained in cooking. We've lived in many places and have tried to absorb a lot of cultures in our meals. Makes for some wonderfully varied dinners for us.

Darren Walsh why’d you marry pinay? Too ugly/old or low value to find someone in your own country. Had to travel to a poor country to find someone to marry you? Your wife doesn’t even love you! Lol. Really pathetic.

Equally, i hope you will not be offended if they don't like our food 😊. Cos some of us filipinos are very volcanic reactive 😂. My husband eat pancit canton, bistek tagalog ( im from manila) and menudo. The rest, he will just taste a little bit here and there to please the hosts. 😊 He cook me adobo when i feel want to eat it, sure KZbin is one thumb away 😁 Knocking out another food in another country is a bit offensive so stop comparing cos you'll get any kind of replies.

unfortunately too many Filipino restos are not really aimed at the American crowd. The turo turo may be acceptable to Pinoys but Americans unfamiliar with the foods and styles generally are not as comfortable there.

It is very sad how the resto owner was so afraid to call one food item for what it is called. She kept calling the Spring Roll as Egg Roll. Why? Because she knows it would sound exotic. Spring Rolls are in every China towns. Then she also had to call the noodle as Rice Noodle. Truth be told, Filipinos do not even know rice noodles exist. Then she also called the Spring Roll as Lumpia. She must be very naive. That is clearly LUmpia Shanghai or Shanghai! But she had to call it egg roll.
