Hi Paul. Im ex motor trade and toying with the idea of retiring in Cyprus. I have an old classic Lotus which i would want to container over. What is the general view of classics and are there any special requirements for them! Great video too 👍

As long as your Lotus is 30 years old on entry there will be no problem, it will be treated as a classic car in Cyprus, low insurance and low road tax, for weekend use the road tax will be 25 Euros per year, for every day use the road tax will be 265 Euros per year, hopefully this helps.. 😉🤔😎

Hi, Paul. I'm due to arrive in Paphos for good in early March. I'll probably be in to see you for a first car over there but I'm also wanting to bring one of my cars over later in the year when i get my residency (EU passport holder) and my Wife follows me. I'm struggling to find out how much my car tax is likely to be. Is there anyway I can find out current Cyprus rates? plus as whichever car I bring over will be over 5 years old (it'll be imported around next Oct so within the 1 year of residency) so how would I calculate the extra car tax on that vehicle (either a 2013 Mk3 Skoda Octavia 2.0TDi estate or a 2008 Mercedes 320CDI M-Class). Anywhere you can point me to to find out from the UK? Looking at your previous videos I'm pretty happy bringing either over from a support point of view with mercs being in abundance over there and the Octavia basically being a reclotherd VW golf. Enjoying the videos Hopefully meet you in march Best wishes Brian.

Thanks very much for watching Brian, and to answer your question, yes both cars have a good parts supply, but.. and there's a very big but, you will avoid import duty due to bring either car as part of your relocation, but the road tax is a totally different thing, on the Mercedes ML the current road tax is just under 700 euros per annum, but this will not apply to your car, you will pay road tax based on the car as a car imported to Cyprus that is somewhere around 1200 euros per annum, and obviously the car will be unsalable, well in my opinion, maybe this doesn't bother you, but something to consider, as for the Skoda, again you are going to pay a lot in comparison to a car of the same age that was already in Cyprus, I would guess somewhere around 600 euros per annum, again this may not bother you but something too consider, hopefully this helps, if you want more information just email me, paulgee321@yahoo.co.uk.. 👍🤔😎

@ thanks Paul. I appreciate you answering. I’ll probably bring the Skoda as we are driving it down in Oct anyway in order to bring the dogs, we are not flying them, once there it’ll be a case of running it into the ground. As I said, I’ll probably pop in to see you when I arrive for something small to get me to work. Poliá efcharistò

Another great video paul. I'd like to see some car detailing . Do you use any ? I'm not talking general car wash and wax. Guys who apply ceramic coatings and even wrap a car. Both to protect paintwork from uv.
