Pips vs Anti - Crazy meets "oh no you don't." Loved the video. Well-played by both.

Long pip vs anti are the most difficult matches, no one knows whats happening.i m an ox chopper n played an anti guy in a,recent tourney..we both play at a standard level but our match was so unorthodox that the audience thought 2 beginners were playing.

"No one knows whats happening".. exactly this! 😂 In this match my performance was not the best because I had a hard time figuring out what kind of spin i was receiving. I did a lot of mistakes. 😅

Lol. Yeah I beat a steady pips player with my anti. It becomes a bit of a chess match.

Firstly congrats on the win. Without any doubt in my mind you are the better player with way more talent. However , I feel for you as this is a tough matchup against frictionless anti. As with most frictionless antis drive or hitting is way harder due to having no friction and long pips balls are smashable however anti has more difficult time to make affective he’s shots so game goes back and forth unless someone twiddles the paddle or turns around and hit/ top spin with forehand. This has been one of the biggest challenges I had when I transitioned from long pips to anti as with long pips my attack and shots were much more powerful and less prone to mistakes as it has friction. At the end you forced him to make mistake and won the whole thing but it s especially harder with opponents that can flick the first service return and even bump them. By the way I added couple more videos to my channels with fantis feel free to check ‘‘em out:)

oooooooooh nice! What long pips and blade? haha of course I will ask this HOPING you know lol. Good match though. How is his win rate in the league? wondering how well he does vs the usual inverted rubbers playstyles
@AndreaAschi3 жыл бұрын
I always ask my opponent their setup because i know you are interested! :D LP is a Dawei 388 D-1. Blade is a Hallmark but i don't remember which one. If i remember correctly it was a combo blade with fast fh and slow bh. The guy attends the same gym as me, as soon as I see him I ask him. He has a 41% win rate (7 W and 10 L)...he beat some of the strongest players and lost to weaker players. That's the "beauty" of LP or Anti. 😅

ciao! Puntino Lungo: Dawei 388 D-1 OX Telaio: Hallmark ma non ricordo modello, mi pare fosse un combination blade con diritto più veloce e rovescio più lento.

Wow! nice points and great recovery from your side Andrea. I would have love to watch the whole match on this occasion. Your opponent had a very smart use of the long pimple rubber and quite a devastating drive(although not as balanced as yours). It looks like your patience and better footwork has given you this victory. Before I started watching the video, I thought you would be playing with the Cybershape blade... are you planning to use it in competition soon?
@AndreaAschi3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Xabier!! Perfect analysis. In the last 2 games i played aggressively more on his forehand side. This was the right tactic. At the beginning i suffered a lot his LP push and smash tactic. I'm testing Cybershape only in training. I still have about ten matches recorded before buying the new stiga blade. That's why you will see me playing again in official game with my old Carbonado 190. ;)

@@AndreaAschi Yeah, i started to play anti 1 month ago, it gives me much fun, even more than playing on LP or inverted, and i also really liked how good players like you play this rubber ;). Im trying to learn some tactics and ways to play it on higher level. Your videos are giving me many ideas how do i should try to play it against players, and those are working :D
