You can't let The Who cover one of your songs. They will blow your version away!!

Whatever the Who touches turns to gold. IMHO, this version is better than the original.

LOVE the Who and this song!!! They totally rocked it and they're the best band ever!! (In my opinion, anyway)

This make it seem as if Elton's version is fast tempo cover, love both versions but The Who's got something magical about it

The Who is my favorite band. They just kick such serious butt! NO singer has the sound of Daltrey! Entwistle is a monster. Pete Townsend IS ROCK!

I love singing "Saturday-Saturday" at the end of "Who Are You" since this song was originally written with The Who in mind and they probably threw the chords to this song at the end of their song as an acknowledgement of that. Fitting they get to cover it.

cette version est purement géniale, interprétation magistrale du meilleur talent des Who, fantastique groupe!magiciens du rock and roll! Rip Keith and John.

1991, and Kenney Jones had left the band by then. Jon Astley (according to wikipedia, so don't yell at me if it's wrong) was the drummer for this track.

Elton John was the better performer and showman while the Beatles were more influential. However when it comes to actual musical quality, few bands can approach the Who. It's just like the way Bach could take a Vivaldi composition and work it into something far in excess of anything Vivaldi could have imagined.

Before now I never knew this existed. Sounds like 80s: I recognized Jones's not-as-awesome drumming.

It might be a cover, but this song really exemplifies Roger's description of The Who's music: "The Stones write songs to fuck to; The Who write songs to fight to."

Apparently The Who said they were getting their own back for Pinball Wizard!,from memory i think this was for a charity thing.Anyway they nail it in my opinion.Hats off to Mr John and Mr Taupin though, it is a fucking killer tune. Check out Thunders version of Gimme Shelter for another awesome cover

The combination of straight and gay testosterone culminates in this, for me, all time favourite and brings back the days into rememberance in which I myself was young and foolish. I now realise that I am currently just foolish, but this track brings back the delightful memories of when I was gloriously both.

From my comment posted where do i actually infer that Elton stole it? This was off an album called "Two Rooms" where various artists were paying homage to John/Taupin.That quote although slightly paraphrased is on the sleeve notes.I am sorry that my comment invoked a reply ,but i believe your words are misplaced when you look at the actual content of my note.Just trying to set the story straight
