I hope the judge shows no mercy on his ass he is no different from any other criminal matter of fact he is the worst everything he did was premeditated and planned and he did everything he intended to do his mother and father deserves to be punished just as well death penalty for Ethan and at maximum 10 years for both his parents I don’t want to hear he had a mental illness he knew exactly what he was doing he was old enough to get himself some help don’t go lightly on him he mowed them kids down like animals it’s time he pay for what he has done

A death penalty means nothing except years and years of appeals costing taxpayers money. This is a seriously disturbed kid whose parents seem to have ignored. What mom tells her son "...you just need to learn how not to get caught"? I hope he gets life, no parole, and the psychiatric help he so desperately needs. JMHO'

To be fair there was lots of people in his life that failed him. His perents school teachers aswell as professionals. They all had a part to play in this. Its always the ones that cry out for help that get ignored and punished. Due to all these people now his life aswell as others have been put on the line. This could of been prevented if only they would of used there intutions and there professional roles. This should be a wake up call for all parties involved.

Exactly! I feel like people are scared to say that because they think it makes them look like their sympathizing with Ethan. Like people don't get that you can still be against Ethan while simultaneously addressing the fact that he had an awful upbringing. I guess everyone forgot that they're trying to convict the parents too! They've never convicted parents of a shooter, so that alone should give people the hint that those are mitigating factors.

I am totally aware that what he has done was very wrong and yes, he should be punished. But I also see this lonely, depressed boy, that was failed by all the adults in his life. Not only his parents that obviously found themselves far more important then their son, but his teachers and school did nothing to help him either. There is something about him, that makes me feel sorry for him. I also do not agree that children should be treated as adults. His parents had a responsibility, so had his teachers. It makes me sad that there are so many children that have awful parents and rolemodels.

I feel that way too. His acts were atrocious, but makes you wonder if it could all have been avoided if he had been properly parented which is why his parents are also being held accountable too. Gross negligence on their part.

I agree. A juvenile brain is a juvenile brain. Prosecuting Ethan as an adult seems to fly in the face of holding both his parents and the school system accountable for their failures to address a minors need for help. All of what didn't happen for Ethan may have been unintentional/ human, even understandable. However, this tragedy does demand address, legally ,and as a conversation for adults concerned with the care of minors.

I found this Dr. the most convincing of the experts utilized in this process. An impairment as impactful as psychosis certainly would show evidence of an inability to organize and implement- meet the criteria of a stated goal. At least as i understand the impact of Psychosis.

I strongly agree that monsters like him do these disgusting crimes for "fame" or "infamy" or some inverted sense of "heroism". The appeal of being "famous" for ending lives needs to be scoured from popular culture. Make an example of him. Censor his views and sever his contact with the outside world and lock him away where he can be forgotten. There are a lot of good people in the world. Nobody will miss him.

10 years in a juvenile facility will be an appropriate sentence for him. That will be enough time to rehabilitate him so that when he gets out he can be a productive member of society.

Four young people each gave up a life time for this incident. Approximately 70 years each equaling 280 years. Not sure if 10 years would be appropiate for this young man. I know I would not live in a house with him after 10 years and feel comfortable. His parents should serve at least 50 years each, that may rehabilitate them. I feel 40 years may rehabiliate him (the shooter) for society. Of course, that is only my opinion.
