y'know you don't have to put an ellipses after every sentence right? it's pretty annoying. and knowing about lgbt+ history is important in discovering yourself and joining the fight to help problems like suicide, stds, and discrimination. lance also wrote the movie milk. he spent about a year researching and interviewing people so he could make the story as realistic as possible. without that movie, many young people wouldn't even know who harvey milk was. for lgbt+ people struggling with sexuality or gender identity it can be very important to know that you're not alone and you have other people trying to help you. we need to start remembering people like marsha p. johnson, bayard rustin, and harvey milk because they were so so important in paving the road for what we have today and what we need to fight for for tomorrow.

OMG! I already loved Tom Daley, because, well, he's Tom Daley. Now, I am equally in love with Lance. Regretfully, I was ignorant of the amazing things he's done for our gay community until listening to this speech. The first nine years I was with the love of my life it was illegal for us to be married. It was one of the highlights of my life that I was able to be married to my husband, Clint. Clint passed away last year. I am grateful every day, that the last few years of his life, we were together as husbands. Thank you Lance for helping make that a reality.

There is a difference between a very well-spoken public speaker and a passionate public speaker. Not just the way one deliver his speech but by the way one could tell a story and the emotions that lies behind the words, along the lines. Dustin, you really an inspiration and an amazing motivational speaker. You just remind me just now that what we need, not just in the aspect of leadership, that PASSION is what we need. In the course life, only we could achieve our dreams and aspirations with the passion that we should possess. It is the drive that will keep us going. No matter how many times we fail or how long the road may go, we will get there in the end. Thank you Dustin. Stay inlove with Tom and an awesome dad to baby Robbie. -Love from Philippines.

Apparently it's very likely that there already has been a gay president but to be openly gay would be huge. We have a young gay man running now who might be good. It would be a huge cultural step for America. Lance doesn't need to be president to be a gay role model and to make a difference though. He's already having a huge impact.

Everything Lance said about speaking to those with different views than your own holds true of our best politicians. Ted Kennedy and John McCain were friends who worked together for the good of the WHOLE country, not just those from their own party. How sad and ironic that they both died from the same condition on the same day of the year. Maybe this is a sign that we need to return to the days of working together for the good of the whole. Beautiful words from Lance. I know his best work still lies ahead.

Thanks Lance! Brilliant speech, with so much life and passion. Inspirational and so glad you're still hear to tell your stories. It helps our cause and breaking down the barriers of "difference".. opening our minds to acceptance of others, regardless of sexual orientation, colour or religion. Thank you!

Bravo! Intense story compellingly presented. I'd like to hear what he is saying now about our political climate. My gosh, he and Tom are a couple with both panache and substance. Grateful to have found this speech.

Dustin, what an excellent, touching presentation. It brings back the very painful experiences I went through with my Southern Baptist upbringing. I was often so close to suicide. I am so happy you and Tom found each other. You are both extraordinary people. You deserve one another. Both of you are inspiring examples of cool, intelligent, and very beautiful gay men. Loved it!

Now going forward, June 7th, 2020, look what is going on. Isn't that amazing?. This is so prophetic, we are in a revolution in the U.S and around the world with the black movement and I think this is going somewhere, I think we are going to achieve something good. You may not get this message, but thank you Mr. Black for everything You've done for all of us here in the U.S. Yours truly, RIck Esp.

One of Lance's gifts is his ability to create a safe space around himself and the person he is talking to. In that space he does not judge, he does not attack, he accepts his counterpart as they are. And then, within that space, something begins to change.

What I also like is the fact that Lance and Tom have their own separate limelight - Tom, golden boy-athlete, and Lance, the star writer/ filmmaker/ producer - otherwise, they would have stood behind the other's shadow. Robert Ray is a blessed kid.
