The answer to the questions the students kept asking should have been something like "a virtuous person does what is right, and an action is right when it is consistent with Aristotle's list of virtues". Instead, most of the responses given were something like "a virtuous person does what is right, and an action is right if it would be performed by a virtuous person". That's just not helpful.

to successfully achieve reason go on good judgement aristotle moral realist ... humans have final purpose what makes a person good is achieving final purpose you are virtuous if you live your life attempting to achieve your final purpose .. Are all final purposes good? Is being the best thief in the world a good final purpose? Then a virtuous person indeed could be a thief if they are performing the job with the utmost ability that they possess. They would be acting to achieve their final purpos

Are all final purposes good? Is being the best thief in the world a good final purpose? Then a thief could indeed be a virtuous if they are performing the job with the utmost ability that they possess. They would be acting to achieve their final purpose in life. It is a subjective thing the final purpose. Those actions that I have learned to be morally virtuous from my subjective point of view are not the same from another, they have another set of morals some of which I may find objectionable.
