I know you made this video years ago, but I lost my son soon after being my sewing machine and walked away from sewing. It’s been eleven years now, and I’m ready to vet back to sewing. This video helped me so much as I’m making a quilt for a wedding, and would really rather do their names on the quilt blocks myself. I’m going to give it a try. Thank you so very much for making this video and leaving it up for all of us.

I was just trying to figure out how to use the embroidery feature on my brother (same one in the video) so I came to KZbin for a tutorial. This was the best video for it. Easy to follow, clear, straight to the point, and detailed. I would have never thought to use the quilting foot to do my own freehand embroidery. Now I can make the font larger. Thank you so much for making this video.

I have been sewing for 50+ years and I just learned more in the last nine minutes than I have in the last two years. Thank you for posting! My grandmother used to do freehand embroidery with an old Singer zigzag...but you can't adjust the stitch width without stopping on these computerized machines. She used to work that machine like an etch a sketch! I am inspired to try some of this method. Thanks again!

I have a lot of "man" hobbies as well as my crochet and sewing, etc. I work on my cars, plumbing, electrical, etc. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when guys sew/crochet/knit/etc. Thank you for helping me break down the stupid gender barriers. Your wife is a lucky lady! That being said, thank you also for this video! I'm trying to get better at free hand and seeing how others do it is helping me find my groove. One thing that's helped me is putting my fabric in an embroidery hoop to help keep it taught. I have a less-involved singer and I haven't figured out how to make it behave well with the darning foot like yours does so the hoop really helps :) THANK YOU!

Wow, you have some skills, that is so cool that you do so many different things. It's funny that you commented on this video right now as I have been looking at sewing machines online for the last hour. I would love to be able to afford one of those expensive embroideries machines but until that day I will have to just improve on the freehand technique. By the way, you broke down the barrier for me.
@ebowie6147

Right on! :) I've been looking at machines as well, actually. I've always had Singers. I'm that kind of habitual, nostalgic, brand loyal, old school kinda gal. If I learned to drive in a Chevy, I keep buying Chevy. If I learned to sew on a Singer, I'll keep buying Singer. But I've been consciously trying to broaden my horizons, so I now have a Pontiac and a Ford LOL and I'm looking at Brother and even EuroPro *gasp* :D I look forward to seeing what machine you decide on. I appreciate your reply! I'm subscribed and notified :]

@aliciavalcarce8633
@aliciavalcarce8633 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Juliette, I haven't joined the channel yet; you can make it thicker( it's called satin stitch)using a zigzag stitch. You have to play with the length and width. I believe the instruction manual shows how to do that. Also, if you've done button holes those are done with the sattin stitch, which the machine automatically does. Hope this helps.

When changing to the spring action quilting foot; is the “N” foot still suppose to displaying on the screen? Which settings are changed?
@oxmanagain
@oxmanagain 5 жыл бұрын
Anytime you replace any of your sewing feet you will have to manually change the settings. If you turn the page 66 in the owner's manual it talks about the free motion quilting. The thing that's important to do with the quilting foot is lower the feed dog so you can have free range to move your fabric under the needle. You also want to pretty much do a straight stitch or a small zig zag so the needle doesn't hit the foot itself.

I don't know if you had time to watch any of the other videos in the playlist I sent you. But I did an unboxing of the sewing machine and I went over pretty much every single thing in detail, that might help a little more. I don't have an issue at all with you asking questions that's just another option. Like I said ask as many questions as you want it doesn't bother me one bit.

Thanks so much, one question. Can you use a satin stitch for the big monogram?
@oxmanagain

Yes you can, it will just take some time to get the hang of it. Thanks for watching.

Hi!! I have that machine but the decorative stitches and the fonts don’t come out like they should. Do you have any idea what could it be? The straight stitch and zigzags come out great
@oxmanagain

Maybe it's the thickness of your. Very thick or very thin fabrics will have different outcomes

I would suggest using the zig-zag stitch while you trace, it's thicker and mimics actual lettering. I assume that's what you did towards the end of the video. Great video nonetheless!

@oxmanagain
@oxmanagain Жыл бұрын
This looks like a pretty nice little machine. It all depends on the type of sewing that you're going to do but this seems to be more than just a starter sewing machine but less than a professional sewing. What type of sewing do you do and what price can you buy this?

tainalady First off thank you for watching I really do appreciate that. This is the setup I did, I took the presser foot off and the presser. Then, I installed the spring action quilting presser foot. Then you lower your feed dog or deactivate them and you're ready to sew. Let me add I should have used a sewing hoop to keep the fabric taut. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Thanks again.

Is 15 the only stitch that is giving you a problem? I just used 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 and they all worked for me. Tell me all the numbers that are giving you a issue and I will make you a personal video.
